I just got a Cobra a couple of days ago. I really like it but there is one problem with it. It seems that the top nut is only hanging on by one thread. With thicker gauge wirer I have a very hard time getting the top nut to tighten all the way....half the time it just falls off. I have completely tightened the unit by holding the bottom nut with pliers and tightening the positive post with a screwdriver. Anyone had similar problems? Any suggestions?

The center post is adjustable. You can use a screwdriver, and turn the bottom of the center post clockwise, which will expose more threads at the top.
Thanks GDeal....I was wondering if my center post was too short now I know it is not since I also have five threads showing as well...but the threads in the top nut I have don't start until a couple of mm inside the nut....so I think that is the problem.
Yes I have tightened it all the way...I can't possibly tighten it anymore.
yea i have two of them and have about 5 threads on both of them. you may have just been unlucky and gotten a screw that was trimmed too short. i know you said its been awhile but maybe contact the vendor or get a replacement set from alba.
