Just got a magma rda & I'm madly in love with this thing!! So far I've tried a single & dual coil build. Both came out to .9 ohms. I'm new to building coils so any input would be helpful. Also I noticed if I pack the juice wells with cotton I get no leakage & more vapor BUT I can really taste the cotton when I vape.

I have one set up at 1x coil/1.5 ohms. Another at 2x coil/0.8 ohms.
Both are excellent. I use KGD cotton and only have enough wick to touch the base of the juice well.

What type of cotton do you use (organic cotton balls, cellucotton (rayon), Koh Jen Do)?

Maybe you are using too much cotton. I use Koh Jen Do in my Magma and have no cotton taste.
I've used organic cotton, cellucotton (rayon), and Koh Jen Do cotton in my KFL+ and rebuildable drippers. I use 28 gauge Kanthal. I prefer the rayon and Japanese cotton over the organic.
In your situation, you might want to try the rayon being that it is synthetic.

26 gauge is thicker than 28 gauge, and will require additional wraps to achieve the same resistance of the 28. That's a good thing, because the more loops the more surface area of the coil. The downside is it will take slightly longer for the coil to hear up.

I am new here so hello. I just got my hands on a magma clone and put it on my gus lord clone. As for the coil i am running a single 24 AWG 1/16 micro coil in it. 12 wraps 13 if you count the two 1/2 wraps. Comes in at .8 ohms. Close down to the deck. 2 of the second largest air holes open. I straight to lung vape and the flavor and cloud production on the setup is phenominal. Nice and warm vape and smooth.
My Magma is set with a single twisted 28g, 7/8 wrap on 5/64 bit coming in at 0.8ohm. It's currently wicked with cotton, as I'm waiting on my local Sally's to get the rayon in.
I'm using an IPV2 regulated mod, so I don't sub ohm at all on the Magma. Dual coil 30 gauge, 11 wraps each on a 5/64th in bit, 1.25 ohms. Good bit of surface area on those coils, and they heat up quick.
Rayon wick thick enough to provide some resistance when pulling through the coils, trimmed so they almost touch the bottom of the wells. I was using cotton, but rayon performs a LOT better than the cotton - almost never get dry hits unless it goes almost bone dry. Also, a dry hit on cotton is 10x more unpleasant than on rayon.
Usually have my mod set to 25-30 watts, depending on the juice, with the AFC ring removed. Great for lung hits, and the flavor kicks me in the face. Throws pretty good vapor, too.

I'm liking my build 28 gauge 4 wrap micro coil 2.4 mm size on cotton. I think it's about .6 ohm. Vape is is hot and flavorfull. This RDA is so nice to vape.
Are you sure it's cotton flavor? This RDA has to be cleaned, cleaned again, boiled in distilled water, dipped in Vodka, dipped in 50/50 alcohol, and washed out with distilled water. Any small contamination, you can sure taste it. I don't think it's the cotton, I think it's the residue from machining. I soaked in 50/50 alchohol for 2 days because I tasted something weird. Finally she vapes and taste perfect.

I like 28 gauge micros at .5 ohm, also less is more when you wick this
