[Aging Vape]

After vaping for a few years now and spending a lot of that money I thought I would be saving after quitting smoking, I decided to try my hand at building my own coils. I watch a video by Grimm Green on building fused claptons and thought that I might give it a try. He used Anarchist 26 gauge wire 2 strands and wrapped them with 36 gauge nichrome wire. Mty thought is can I do the same using 2 strand of 24 gauge stainless wrapped with 36 guage nichrome?

You can do that yes. Not sure I would suggest trying to build Clapton wire from scratch as your first foray into building though. Of course you know your skill and comfort level better than I do, I just hate to see someone get frustrated with their first attempt at something.

You can, question is if you want to. You'd get a power hungry massive coil with a considerable ramp-up time.
36g for wrapping is ok but don't go lower than that it'll also be wasteful. 26g or 28g as cores for aliens or claptons are fine but anything below 26 will make the coils really slow. Even 26 isn't that quick of a fused clapton core.

If you want to confirm this by yourself you can simply make parallel coils of your 24g wire (basically fused clapton without clapton ) and see how that works out.

I think it would be easier to start with something super simple like a dual coil with a single desired wire and work your way up from there?
Then you’ll get how different gauges, diameters and types of wire behave on their own before more.

I assumed he had built simple wire coils because I assumed he already had that 24g wire...
AgingVape if you didn't then build simple coils first!
