Looking through all of the flavors that I usually like to vape, a majority of them are dark and will gunk up my coils. I was replacing coils left and right, almost 2-3 coils/week. Then; thanks to a suggestion from a friend, I used the spray-hose attached to my kitchen sink and sprayed a steady/strong stream through it. Now my coils look brand new, and (after the wicks dried out) work like new, too! I did have one coil that increased by about .2 ohms, but I'm going to chalk that one up to age - and besides, it still works perfectly.
But yeah, I would think (if anything) that lower resistance coils might gunk up faster due to more possibility for burning. Either way, I don't think changing the resistance will affect the amount/time it takes to get gunked up.
