Hi all

I have one question to you all.

1
How do you like place your Coil/s in your rda Build? Do you have them close to bottom of your deck? Or medium? Maybe high up ?

Offcourse this is different for different types of rda i think, where and how big the Air In holes is placed also and so on.

Anyways
Have you find something that works best almost everytime or is it always different for different rda.s ?

BONUS QUESTION 2
How much/tight Cotton you have in your builds?
1 Tight , almost inpossible put them in the coils?
2 Medium , cotton is pretty easy install in coils and move ?
3 Loose , cotton is very easy change, very loose

I understund that some coils and builds maybe like alot cotton, and others not so much cotton.
Anyways, what works best for you most of times?

Bonus Question 3

What type of coils gives best taste for you and what wattage?
Clapton?
Tigerwire?
or others ? Please tell
ohm and gauge info ?

Sorry for many questions.
The more you answer = better :)
Most important is you tell about question 1

Sorry for my English. I live in Scandinavia hehe

@vikingvape, every atomiser likes to be built differently but no matter what you always try to place the coil or coils in the airflow.

With cotton, you don't need it really tight in the coil as it swells when wet.

So about medium would be your answer.

And on a final note, play. As each atomiser will perform how you'd like at different resistances and with different types of coils.

As some of us vapers are happy with simple round and flat wire as it's an all round easy option, flat wire is worth a try though if you've never used any before.

As you get a lot more surface area of the coil in contact with wicking and if you need to clean it, it's easier than a complex coil with lots of spaces where gunk can hide.

But if you do try flat wire, don't go thinner than 0.2mm otherwise you won't be able to use it.

A rough guide to height... what is your coil ID? Place the coil about that height above the air intake. Give it a whirl, and adjust the next time as desired. The closer the coil is to the top of the chamber (or tip), the hotter the vape will be.

And yes, it does vary depending on the RTA/RDA.

I'm rayon only, and it needs to be tight. Cotton, not so much.

Me, round Kanthal A1, easy and I'm lazy :)

As a General rule for Side Airflow RDA's, I like to put the Centerline of the Coil just a Little Higher than the Centerline of the Air Inlets.

Bonus 2: I wick with Cotton so that that I can feel the Cotton is just about ready to Snag inside the Coil when I pull on it. Tighter is (to Me) Better than Looser.

Bonus 3: 26ga Plain Round Wire SS with 6 Wraps / 3.0mm Id @ 25 Watts in a Single Coil NarDa RDA is my Daily Squonk Set-Up.

The position of the air inlet hole determines the coil position mainly. However I do make the error margin in the upwards direction since the bottom is a dead end. Also, since I allow one end of the coil to be farther away, the hole is aligned more with the closer end.

Tiny coils do well with loose cotton, the same on a large diameter can collapse from the weight of the juice. I don't use large enough coils to need art wire, #28 SS .75 ohm (=about 1.2 ohm of Kanthal).

But seriously, I'm lazy and have better things to do than recoil/rewick, so I use the sh_t that's gonna last the longest: 26ga Titanium as big as possible (3mm ID preferably) and a .... load of Rayon stuffed in there. It's all about heating quickly and cooling even more quickly while staying completely saturated in juice. Titanium transfers heat magnificently and has a totally clean neutral flavor...until it doesn't:blink:

I don't doubt you can get better vape/flavor with 6 ga "clampton Twisted Macrame Twizzle Stix double knotted Hangsman's Noose" coils at the very top of the chamber....
but they ain't gonna last long.

Creme De Vape list a 24 AWG in Titanium, one may accidentally fall into my next order somehow.

    There's also some here.
    Titanium Wire - Zivipf Onlineshop

    And Surgical grade 1 here.
    Search results for: 'Titanium'

That's an interesting one as it's listed as non resistance, but the product labels say resistance. Wonder if that's because of PMTA?

But if it works, I've seen as low as 18 AWG there.

For me it is purely determined by where the airflow holes are. I change my coil id and leg length (on post less decks) so that the airflow is hitting the bottom third of my coil.

In RDAs, I use less cotton than I would in an RTA. So my tightness would be Medium on your scale.

My wattage is between 20w - 35w depending what coil I'm using. I get the best flavour from a tricore fused clapton 3*30/38, but it does get warm.

My favourite build is a 0.5mm x 0.2mm flat wire, 2.5mm id, 5 wraps coil which is around 0.7ohms. I run this in unregulated mods so the wattage is anywhere between 18 watts to 25 watts
