Still relatively new to vaping, but really enjoying it. I have a KangerTech EVOD cartomizer, 650mAH battery and currently using the universal coils at 1.8ohm. I use a tobacco flavored juice. I seem to be having to change my coil every 3 to 4 days to get good vaping. I'm wondering if there is another coil I could use that would last longer. I'm not interested in building my own coils, which is why I chose the EVOD as it was easy & simple to use. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Analog free for 5 months and loving it!

Congrats on making the switch, BMc!

Some flavors, especially the darker and sweeter ones, tend to gunk coils faster than others. Just the nature of the beast. Number of days is less relevant than how many mls, imo, since we all vape different daily averages.

And even though you don't want to recoil, you can partially "recondition" those heads without much effort. It's called "dry burning", so google up some vids on that. Basically, wiggle off the chimney (easier to grip if still in the base :) ) and remove the flavor wicks that are lying loosely on top of the coil and wick. Remove from the base and rinse well in hot running water. Some let them soak in grain alcohol - i.e. cheap vodka - overnight, then rinse well.

Then assemble the head to the base and pulse it with your battery until the gunk burns off. Rinse again and let dry. I've used 100% cotton yarn (white) to replace the flavor wicks, others use cotton balls with the small amount needed "teased" out, or if you wish you can get some 1 mm strand silica and use 2 strands, just like the original. Replace the chimney and sealing cup, and you're done.

Over a longish period of time, the resistance will creep up. When it gets too high for your preferences, it's time to replace. But keep the old ones in a small baggie, as you may decide some time in the future that you do want to learn to coil :)
