Coil/wick info for dummy.

I have been researching, hunting, reading and still do not have a good grip on many things. I have a mark-t, Ody, iAtty and Genesis Maxi and L2. If there is a good “coil making for dummies” page or someone could assist with the following, I would be grateful and others may be as well.

1. I see that the mark-t atomizer uses pre-wound coils with a fiber/material wick and a single strand of wire wrapped for the coils whereas the iAtty, etc uses resistance and non-resistance wires with the R wire wrapped around the wick to make the coils.
What is the difference?

some atty’s seem to use a stainless steel mesh, a wick and kanthal (e.g. genesis, Zatty)Does the SS mesh replace the NR wire and the wick or do the terminals have something to do with it , or both? If so, can the same set-up be used for those requiring R and NR wires and a material wick, like the iAtty?
3.
I have read the quantity of coils around the wick material creates the resistance and then have seen a vid where the length of the resistance wire is what creates the resistance/OHMs.
????

4. I am interested in 1.8 to 2.0 OHM resistance and have seen that there are many different thickness wires for resistance wire, NR wire and kanthal and I cannot discern what size is for what. Maybe the answers to the above will help be understand but I am not sure.

HELP!!! (thank you in advance)

1.Depends on distance of coil to the voltage pins. Every mm from resistance wire is going hot where isn't juiced (around the wet wick) will going to be red hot - this is bad. Then the moders use NR wire to make a chain to the power pins.
2.SS mesh are replace of the silicate wick. Not a terminal IN ANY CASE, oposite - there is howtos to oxidize SS mesh to be an isulator. Oposite case will destroy at least the coil even the battery/electronics
3.Same thing - L of the kantal, wraped around wick can be measured in number of coils. If you know your device good, make reagular coils for them with the same wick - instead of measure the lenght needed can count the coils
4.Make calculations, make some tries - get 0.3, 0.2, 0.15mm of heating wire, calculate the needed lenght by divide resistance of atty to the specific resistance (ohm/m) of wire and will get as resault the lenght of coil.
