okay so i started rebuilding my optimus rda with 2mm silica wick and 4 wraps of kanthal 32g, i come up with 2.0 ohms and it works great but my coils dont light up at all? every rebuild i have seen the coils light up bright red and im worried i have done something wrong. any help would be much appreciated, thank you in advance

What are you using your rda on? And are you trying to do this before or after you put juice?
Coils should only glow when the wick is dry (hence the term dry burn). When I setup a silica based RBA I pulse the coils before putting any juice on the wick which seems to oxidize the resistance wire a bit and I get better performance (faster more even heating). It also let's you see if your coil is shorting anywhere (wraps touching each other or a post/deck).

if your able to measure resistance and when you push the button your getting vapor, it's working. You can pulse the button till the juice you dripped on the wick burns off and it'll glow but it's not necessary. In the immortal words of Zen, "just vape it..."

Cool thing about RBA/RDA is if you mess up a setup you can quickly tear it down and rebuild for only a couple pennies of wire and silica. It gets much easier and quicker once you build some confidence but it sure is cool the first time you wrap a wick/coil and get it to vape
