Coils burning prematurely

I get a burnt taste after 3-4 days when using my current favorite juice, Apples & Berries from Synergy Labs. The clearo's I use are all single, bottom coils - Protank 2, Kanger T3S and Ismoka BCC. I always use 2.5 ohm coils. Would a lower resistance coil help? Or is this simply happening because of the nature of the juice and the way I am vaping e.g. drawing too long and too quickly between puffs. I tend to like large thick clouds with this juice cuz it's so darn good! I'm also thinking of trying a dual coil but am concerned about sucking my battery down too quickly.

Sorry for for the long winded question but I really need your expertise peoples :)

Thank you and have a great day!

That is normal . Its a dependent on what type of juice ( sweet, candy types, NET etc) and how many ml you go thru. Some people can go thru 3mls in a few hours and others can have 3 ml tank last for a week. So you have to not look at it in days, but ml. WHen I was using cartos with my NETs I was going thru 3-5 cartos a day. Thats why I got into rebuildables.

WHen I use NETs in my tank atomizers I have to change/ clean the coils after each tank. WHen I use my almost no flavour 50/50 lite peppermint, I can go thru 12-15 mls before the flavour really gets " dirty/burny"

Have you tried cleaning your coils to get some extra use out of them before tossing? I have been managing to get a couple of extra uses out of each coil by cleaning them.

I lack patience but I've read the cleaning instructions here so I think I'll give it a shot, doesn't really look too time consuming.

Are you using a variable voltage setup? Your voltage might be too high...

Yep using a twist and staying within the guidelines on the chart Kent C posted a while back. I have a feeling it's the combination of the juice type and the Kanger coils. I think my Ismoka coils lasted longer with this juice but even they were short lived.

Very good point and makes perfect sense. Thanks!

I don't have any problems with my kangertech coils, and I chain vape. Lowering voltage is definitely worth a try, but if your coil wicks are already burnt from too high of voltage, the burnt taste might not go away.

What voltage do you run at? I usually never go higher than 3.8, sometimes 4.0, on 2.5 ohm coils, and I never have a problem. The only problem I have is that the juice I have access to is complete crap, lol... No matter, Velvet Cloud vapor will be taking care of that for me shortly.

My Kangers usually gunk up long before they burn out. LOL and i usually get a bad coil at about a one to 15 ratio. If you use alot of coils, you can get the replacement 5 packs for 5.79 at Sun Vapers

I've completely given up on Kanger coils. I've switched to Aspire, and found them to last longer, and give better flavor.

Also, what kind of juice are you vaping? I know I used to get burnt tastes when I was using a liquid that was really sweet.

Apples and Berries from Synergy Labs. It's pretty sweet and I'm sure I'm sitting on the button too long which doesn't help :)

So a really really stupid question and I will research this as well - Do Aspire and other manufacturers make coils that will fit Kanger clearo's? If so, then I'm not too depressed :) I do really like the T3S and the Protank 2 Mini.

With this juice I'm using 2.5 ohm coils and run at 3.6v. I've also just tried a 1.8 ohm coil and am running it at 3.2v - 3.4v.

The smoketech aro uses the same coils as the protanks.
Not sure if or which of the Aspires do, but alot of tanks use the protank coils; theres also some tanks that use a coil which looks the same but is actually slightly different dimensions in which case they're either a tight fit, don't fit, or are too slack and cause gurgling; or viceversa.

After over 6 months I tried rewicking with cotton and discovered it was a whole lot easier than I thought even with my poor eyes.
