Hi Liz here from Bear,DE
I was wondering when I should change my coils and how I will know they need to be replaced? I have an eonsmoke eternity vaporizer..this was my first vaporizer I bought several months ago..it does not have a burnt taste nor does it produce less vaper and it has never been cleaned..I am not having any problems with it..I read somewhere that coils last about 2 weeks..maybe I misunderstood it..I. have had to replace 2 gs-h2 coils that just stopped producing vapor after a couple of weeks..Yesterday I took apart all my gs-h2 tanks and soaked the coils in hot water because they all had liquid from vape wild in the bottoms and would burn my mouth and throat..Will this prolong my coils?

From my limited experience, what I have found that tells me a coil needs to be replaced is when either the vapor production drops, or the taste changes significantly. That's a pretty sure sign that the coil and wicking material is all gunked up. People say that darker colored juices and sweeter juices tends to gunk up coils a lot faster. I vape a sweeter, fruit flavored juice and the coils still last me a little over two weeks (perhaps I keep using the coils longer than I really should?). Rinsing the coils out and then letting them soak will extend the life of a coil as that will loosen up all that gunk. Many say that it is better to soak the coils in a strong alcohol (like vodka) to help loosen it up). The coil wire itself will last longer than the wicking material.

Honestly, I haven't really bothered much with trying to clean out and revive a coil. At $2-3 each, if they last me two weeks, I just toss them. Now that I have purchased all the materials to make my own coils and rewick them, I may start saving the old coils and start rebuilding them instead.

First, I'm a DNS nOOb.

How much you vape and whether you vape mostly Darker juices may limit your coil life but I researched this for my nOOb self just the other day.

This is for the Kanger single bottom coils. I believe I read it somewhere on ECF that if you clean them once a week, they should last 3 cleanings.
That sounded logical to me so that's what I'm working with for now. I've cleaned a first coil just in HOT water bath for several hrs and it came out
clean and fluffy except for the very tips of the wicks. I do plan on the next wash being with Everclear.

5 packs of the single coils are around $5-6 retail. If I can get 3 weeks out of a coil, I'll be happy.

Hi Robert..that is actually an infinity tank..I have an eternity tank..I can't post the link since I am new..I did just buy 10 new coils for my gs-h2 tanks...so I should change my coils every couple weeks even if I am not having any problems or getting a burnt taste?

Depends on usage; the way to check usage is to check how much liquid goes through the coil.
5, 10, maybe 30 ml depending on the liquid;
but if it doesn't taste burnt and your tastebuds are working, they're supposed to be ok; you could also pull the top off and look inside a used coil to see if it's black.

i changed them whenever i changed flavors, and washed the old ones. But if you mean...like to toss one.... Than... I would say couple weeks? or when the juice tastes bad. Also dark colored juices will make the coil go faster.
when I used premade coils... i would soak in vodka, and change daily, as I had about 7 flavors in rotation and liked a new flavor each day. As time went on, I started doing the same flavors. Then, it was about every week they got a wash, and an overnight soak in Vodka

Only change when the flavor drops below what you like or you get burned hits. You can remove them and soak/rinse in warm ie hot tap water or PGA or vodka to extend their life but they need to dry for about a day after rinsing before reuse.
I believe your setup is 808 threaded. Not many replaceable coil clearomizers out there for that thread.

Hi Robert...they are 808 threads but I also have three ego batteries..the ego t uses it's own tanks but my other battery uses gs_h2 tanks and the ego t uses ce4 tanks...but I can't use the gs_h2 tanks on the ego t...but I can use the ce4 on my other ego battery..strange I guess..I don't plan on buying anymore eonsmoke tanks...unless they use the same replacable coils..I usually vape different flavors through out the day since I haven't found an ADV yet...I. like a lot of different flavors ..I don't know maybe I can't just vape one flavor all day..talking about my coils..one just happened to go today..it wasn't that old and it wasn't one of the ones I cleaned..it was a new tank..it just stopped producing vapor while using it...
