Cola flavor seems heavy

I have noticed that any of my cola mixes are really "heavy". It feels like I shouldn't even be vaping it.... I use TFA cola from Wizard Labs btw. They always smell great, taste great, just that heaviness that is almost scary to be honest. I had just assumed that maybe cola wasn't the best flavor to use and have stopped trying.

Has anyone else noticed this oddity?​

I have Inawera cola's that are even stronger than TFA. They come in glass bottles, and literally removes the ink off the label. I just vape them occasionally. When I'm craving cola.

I tried the TFA cola and was not thrilled with it. The hangsen blue cola was way better. But I don't think it's the cola causing the heavyness. I will sometimes get that with high VG mixes. Try reducing the VG to PG content.

I hear you OP. I have Flavor West cola which is on the lighter side compared to other companies flavorings and it is very strong. Cola itself always lightly irritated my throat.

I have dropped it down to even a 30vg/70pg mix and it is still heavy. I found a recipe somewhere on here (maybe ejuicerecipes.com) that the guy called "clouds of innocence" and it looked good, he loved it, others loved it, so I made it figuring maybe it was just my percentages of cola I had been using. Heavy vape. That is when I gave up. None of my other mixes give the heaviness with any other flavors, I have worked out that it is that flavor for sure. Bums me out because they all smell and taste soooo good!!

That Inawera Cola almost put me off vaping for life! I couldn't get that vile aftertaste out of my mouth for days, it's vile enough to drink the filth, let alone breath it in!

I have found the same with my cola. Very heavy and hits hard, not necessarily enjoyable. I am going to try and cut it with cherry 20/80 and see if i can get something more enjoyable. Geez my first DIY.

I can't say I've noticed that, but I use FlavourArt Cola. It just takes 3% Cola (or 3% Cola plus 1.5% Black Cherry) for a great taste that I can chain-vape with no heavy feeling or discomfort. Flavors with diacetyl substitutes give me that feeling, if you're describing the same sensation.

I've never tried their cola, but personally I get that feeling (along with slight headaches) with TFA Watermelon, Honeydew, Grape, Nectarine, and Juicy Fruit. Possibly a few others, can't remember. Taste great, make me feel oogy.

That looks like the one. I am not at home so I can't say it's exactly it, but it looks right. Same ingredients I know for sure, just unsure of the percentages.

I agree with HIC, I never noticed any strong, heaviness, or discomfort from FA Cola. I have not smoked in over 3 years and I'm usually real sensitive to throat hit and I vape mostly 0-2 mg/ml nicotine. FA Cola, tastes like the real RC Cola to me, it's very good. A couple of my Cola mixes are some of my favorite ADV's.

I have had great luck with this recipe. All Mt. Baker Vapor which is Flavor West I think don't quote me. This recipe doesn't feel heavy or irritate and gives a great amount of flavor even though it looks light on the percentages.

You might be having a bit of a physical reaction to one (or more) of the spices (one of the chemical compounds) in the cola flavoring..


In the spices category, clove flavoring has set me off (intestinal).. Even though I used to smoke clove cigs just fine in the past...


I only have 6 NF flavorings right now, but Cola is my least favorite, by far..

It's the after-taste.. Will be getting some other flavors to try mixing it with...


And since it was only a couple bucks, I could also see the potential to just dump this someday..

I'm not used to percentages as high as the ones in that recipe, but I'm becoming less tolerant of vg over 25% lately. In some mixes I use 3-5% saline.
