I thought I'd start a thread to accumulate some helpful tips and random thoughts from the newer vapers here. Note, I don't intend this as a place to argue of who is right or wrong about what tidbit of brainwork someone comes up with. Contradictory ideas in this approach are to give people options, not to demonstrate who wins the internets. (Unless you're really funny, then you do win the internets.)

I'll start with this:

Backup juice is mandatory. Don't wait until you run out before you purchase more. If you have to budget other things a little to get a bottle, that's okay. If you're giving up smoking, for whatever reason, this is important enough to set some other things aside.

I've been vaping for 6 days, mainly for health and financial reasons. Haven't bought a pack of analogues though but the cash I've saved, I bought myself plenty juice and an Innokin 135.
Started on a ego and still using it but I'd advise a battery no lower than 11000mah. Mine lasts all day without charging and that's heavy vaping. By bedtime it goes on charge overnight.

Another good point is don't buy a ton of stuff until you know what suits you. Omg I went crazy with purchases. My first thing was someone told me about bullsmoke... Which are analog alikes. They raved about them. So, I purchased their ranch hand kit. It came, I stopped smoking marlboros and it was ok. So I ordered their other kit with over 100 bucks in cartridges then that night I stumbled across some cool looking things on YouTube. I decided wow I need that... So I ordered an ego twist and a bunch of ejuice, replacement coils, glass tanks and etc... Well now I'm getting over a 100 dollars worth of bullsmoke products in the mail today and won't even open it. I thought about putting it on eBay but it has nicotine in it so I can't. So now that's money wasted because my ego twist came the next day and I love the taste. It's 100 times better than those cartridges. I am ordering an Innokin itaste Friday because I think those are awesome. I have a ton of ejuice moving from Mt baker vapor today. If anybody knows someone wanting a huge new unopened bullsmoke kit with over 100 bucks in cartridges I will cut them a deal cause I'd love to use that money on some cool stuff I'd like to get... :)

Too funny, I was thinking of starting a thread "What I would tell myself 2 months ago" ie. "What the first-timer should buy!"

1. Go straight to a VV battery.
2. Skip the pre-packaged clearomizer and get the Kanger 2 or DCT tank I have now.
3. Buy whatever juice sounds the best to you from Nicoticket. LOL

I wish there was a sticky on here for that. Not that I've spent ridiculous amounts of money so far, but I've definitely wasted some.

Just take baby steps Sunny. That's what it's all about here. Moving as fast or as slow as you want to. I kind of went off the deep end pretty fast myself, but nothing wrong with taking your time to get where you want to be. I See your in Tiger Country by the way. I'm just a little down the road from ya.

I noticed! Best place to be, in my opinion. :)

Good thread to start. Something to keep in mind. I posted this comment a few days ago (+/-) -
Make sure you get a spare battery. You'll want that after the battery you've been using dies. There's nothing like watching your battery charge so you can go back to vaping. Did that once. Very boring and stressful...lol

Good luck & Happy Vaping!! :vapor:

Be prepared for "The Newbie Tax". While, yes, it IS most certainly less expensive to vape than smoke in the long run, the start-up cost for the first few months seems overwhelming.

Back-ups for back-ups.

Learn about types and safety of Li-ion batteries so you don't jeopardize the whole vaping community if/when your battery explodes from mis-use.

It's OK to have a cigrette in the beginning. As long as you're headed to a healthier life, don't be too disappointed if "Quit smoking" isn't instant. Some people take time to become smoke-free. It ain't easy. ECF understands and is here for you. Vape on!

Any good Vape shops up around those parts? Closest stuff to me is Whim Wham Vapes in Pendelton, which is about a 45 minute drive, give or take. Or Jockey Lot, which I kind of dread these days.

That's where I got my first clearo and juice(bad, because I didn't want to try a flavor :p) I had NO clue when I walked in so I'm not sure what they have. Have you bought much in there? I haven't been to the Jockey Lot in moons!! I used to go every Sunday like the Church of Junk.

I haven't made it over there yet. I browse the web site, but haven't pulled the trigger cause there are so many other cheaper vendors out there. I really want to go though, because I am all about supporting local business, but at the same time, my shinyitis has wreaked havoc on my wallet. lol. When I first moved here in October, I we went every week too. Just haven't made it for a while. Same junk every week, so kind of lost the appeal. I like a juice a guy makes out there, but it's so dirty I don't like it being made on site.
