I know this is kinda silly, but I was wondering what types of coloring are safe to throw into e-juice. Can I just hit it with food coloring? or do I need to buy colorings from a DIY juice website or whateves?
I am generally not going to color the juice, but I was kinda thinking of hitting my tank with some color drops before "going out" just to make the whole thing look a bit wilder. Like I said, I know it's silly haha
:p :vapor:

I'll never understand these, but we get folks wanting to inhale dye fairly often. Then to include the word "safe" is just beyond fathomable to me.

I'm all for folks doing whatever they want to get their kicks and since what you propose does not hurt anyone else, i say go for it. There is no "safe" as I have never come across a study of inhaling various dyes and coloring agents in a long, nor a short term period. I doubt it will damage your equipment, so it should be fairly safe for the coil.

If any of the folks who have proposed the same idea in the past would chime in on what it does to taste, that would be interesting.

(This post makes me feel old. I think I need an onion for my belt now...)

There are several juice makers who have "colored" juices. Either it is done intentionally as a sales pitch, or it is done because their flavors had dye in them (Loranns?). The colors don't affect the vapor, I believe all vapor is clear.

If you must color it food dye would be better than others. but I personally would not add dye to any juice. I only use loranns sparingly, but since I did have some I recently made a raspberry tea and it was red/dark pink in color. It is going to clash with my tank

yeah i dont expect the vapor to be colored. I think technically the food coloring would be present in the vapor, but the color of vapor is more determined by the way that light interacts with tiny liquid droplets. so yeah it tends to end up being white/clear.
but i guess my main question was answered. I was wondering if I could put a tiny bit of food coloring right into my tank when i want to look weirder than i already do when vaping in public. I don't plan on coloring a whole bottle of juice. and yeah obviously the fewer things are in the juice the 'safer' it is.

I don't see any reason to color our juice. I buy flavors from Flavour Arts Italy and most of them are naturally clear. But when I make ejuice with it, after a period of oxidation the ejuice starts turning colored, usually the same color you would expect from the flavor. For example my black tea peach will turn a subtle shad of peach color, my apple will start turning green, etc. I think this is just the natural expression of color due to oxidation. No reason to put dyes in your ejuice and introduce a potential airway irritant to your system. If you really want color open up you ejuice and let oxygen do its magic on it for a week or two.

If you want to call attention in a fun way, why not get some of the colored clearomizers that light up with an internal led that glows every time you vape......
