Hello fellow vapors!
I'n new to the forum, but not vaping. I swear I had an old account here, but I didn't see any way to retrieve it.

Anyway, I started vaping in the summer of '09. I went through 3 different systems before settling on the Titan 510 and quit vaping prolly around spring of 2010 after having troubles with my 510
I had been dripping for a while. I started to not get very much vapor and they started tasting bad. Instead of trying to figure things out, I just quit. Did a little bit a light smoking here and there and lately it's been starting to pick up. I saw the new Njoy kings at a local 7-11 recently and decided to give it a shot. Of course, that thing was a complete rip off, but I still had my 510 and it made me bust it back out. I tried them out just to see if the batteries where still good after sitting for over 2 years and they actually still had a charge!
I still can't get them to work right though. The addys still heat up, and I hear the liquid sisseling, but I just don't get much from them. I see that there are these dual coil cartos and tanks now that look very cool. Everyone dripped back when E-cigs were just starting out because using the standard carts just didn't work very well.
I decided to order a couple of the dual coil cartos to see how those work, but I think there may be a problem with the batts as well. I kind of remember having trouble charging them.
If I'm out of luck with my kit, does anyone have any other suggestions of newer models that have came out? I prefer to use something cig like shape, just so it doesn't stick out like a sore thumb. I see the Volts get pretty good reviews. I was kind of looking at the eRoll kit that was just released. PCCs are pretty nice. I tried the BLUs when they were first released (I think they may have been my first e-cig) and really liked the fact that it had a PCC. That was probably the only thing the BLUs had going for it.

Not to cut it down, as I have not heard much about the ERoll, but I do know that it limits you to just their atty's and cartridges (you can still use anybody's juice). And the battery capacity is tiny.

If you want to stay cig-sized, I'd suggest trying out the basic Volt starter kit from SmoklessImage with 78mm batteries and see how you like it.

Thanks for the input. There is one review here on the eRoll. It actually looks pretty good to me. I think the battery is supposed to last for about 20 puffs, and the PCC will last all day if I remember correctly. That's seams very reasonable to me. I don't need to vape constantly. Hell, I think if the batt dies on me, it's time to put it away for a while, lol. The part are fairly cheap as well, but I know what you mean by being limited to their parts. If they stop making them you are screwed. Do you think there may be more compatible parts in the future though? What parts are compatible with the Volt?

If I were to get the Volt, I would just go with the smaller battery and a PCC. I like having a case, and I might as well have one that charges while I'm carrying it

I srarted with the Blu cig myself. I never quit smoking till I got an eGo kit. After that I wanted more, so I started playing with the Variable Voltage eGo-twist. It was the best thing that I could have done, because things all of the sudden became more interesting. I then got a ViVi nova, and started playing with different attys at different ohms using various levels of voltage. Now I make my own flavors. Vaping has become a real hobby for me, and I have learned just about everything through trial and error. I am thankful to Blu for getting me into vaping, but there is so, so, so much more...

First, welcome back.

Second, it sounds like your insistence on having something that looks like a cigarette is holding you back from making the transition into vaping. NONE of the cig-alikes including a volt are going to give you a great battery life.Technology and the chemical limitations of batteries just hasnt progressed that far yet.

Your best bet if your looking for decent battery life in a smaller form factor is going to be an Ego.Depending on how heavy you vape the batteries last anywhere from 6-10 hours and it will take many accessories with a 510 connection.

An Ego is a little thicker than a cigarette but the 650 MaH versions can still be palmed in the hand for a stealth vape and dont have the annoying led light at the end to give you away if youre looking for discretion.

Hey, welcome back to vaping. Good on you for recognizing that smoking was becoming a problem again! I can only offer that I, too, went with (and greatly enjoy) the Smokeless Image Volt. I'm a bit of a vaping newbie myself, but I can't see needing any other system to keep me from smoking again. Hope you get a lot of information from these forums :)

Welcome back to ECF.
I would suggest the "Elite 808" system from CigEasy. ELITE 808 (ALL NEW) They have the new 'clear tanks' that make your juices taste like you're dripping on a 510 atty  The Elite has a really sweet PCC also.
For a nice system that is just 'vape n' go' without tons of mussing, fussing and leaking problems, along with tons of flavor, vapor and throat hit... (depending upon your juices!)... this may just be a good fit for you

In total agreement here... when you grow beyond the 'cig-alike' mindset, you'll have arrived to a level in the World of vaping that literally takes you where no cigarette can go... but it requires a 'bigger' everything to do that. Batteries, Tanks, etc. ;)

No, I doubt that Joye will make any other atomizers for the ERoll. it uses the same atty's as the eGo-C except that, unlike the eGo, they are not placed into a 510 connector...they just stick into the ERoll so the basic design pretty much limits what they can do with it.

The Volt uses standard KR808D-1 threads so you can use any 808-threaded device (or an adapter to go to 510, 901, etc.). You can get other manufacturers cartomizers, clearomizers, and even tanks if your willing to have it look a bit strange (a tank would look rather large sitting on a Volt mini batt). I goofed up and got a couple of their V2 Stardust-like clearo's and, despite the fact that they look pretty odd, they work quite well on the wife's 79mm Volt mini batts and she uses them a lot. EDIT: note that her batts are all manual.

One thing that has cropped up recently is that SI's manufacturer for their manual mini batts "added 2 more threads to the connector" and this causes them to simply not work with either of their PCC's. So, if you want to use the PCC, you have to go with the auto batts...at least until they resolve the issue.

Thanks everyone for their input. I don't need something really discrete. I just don't want something really big. Pocketability is a factor. I actually think the performance of the NJOY kings is adequate, but they are disposable and just not worth the price you pay for them. I was happy with the 510 while they were working as well. I'm not a heavy smoker, and I generally only smoke fairly smooth cigs. Vaping at first is pretty harsh to me, so I think I would be perfectly fine with something smaller.

Actually, now that I think about it, I think I need something else that's going to last me a while even if my 510s still work. I am out and about over 12 hours in a day, so here is my final question for you all:
Would I be better off with the Volt and a PCC ($20 less the the Elite 808) or a couple of ego batts in a small carrier?

TREAT YOSELF! get an ego 650 if you want pocketability. :thumb: . They are a great introduction to what I am sure will become a most satisfying addiction!

I would recommend going with the Ego batts and some cartomizers. Boge 2.0 Ohm or Smoke Tek single coil 1.7 Ohm. That is an almost unbeatable combination.
