Just an update:

If you look up the Vicious Ant Variant on youtube, there are a couple people who have their hands on one now. While it is very nicely machined (VERY) and put together crazy slick and clean, the Variant is the loudest PWM rattle-snaker I've ever heard on video.

I've never heard the rattlesnake effect so obnoxiously LOUD before on video. You think it's noticeable on a Vamo with someone rockin' a carto-tank or clearomizer? Wait until you hear it echoed out inside an rda chamber at 70-120 Watts.

I'm a fan of Vicious Ant, but the $500+ price tag is only going to add to this epic tale of failure.

The Variant straight up sounds like a taser when it's vaped. Yowzer...

Just checked YT video on the Variant. You aren't kidding, that sucker is LOUD.

I will have to say, the setup and interface seem FAR superior to the GI2 which has one of the most convoluted menu interfaces I have ever seen on a mod.

Yeah, it has got to be one of the most streamlined and well thought out interfaces I've seen.

No way this thing can be anything but annoying once you press the fire button. It's not just PWM, it's PWM amplified through a Marshal half-stack guitar amp or something. It's gone far beyond mere rattlesnake. The damn thing seems louder than a hair dryer. Can you imagine trying to watch a movie at home and vaping it? Ha!

Sigh... I kind of feel bad for VA. I like them because it's obvious they're in it to keep innovating and putting out the good stuff.

I have had my valkyrie mini for a few months and it goes everywhere with me. I love the little guy. But I have a problem with it...the locking ring which was so smooth and perfect when I got it has gotten so sticky it barely moves. Trying to take it apart and there is no way I can get the delrin threaded part with the negative pole unscrewed. It has two little holes in it where a very small pair of needle nose pliers should fit points into to turn it out. I have tried everything to get the switch apart and to clean it. Nothing is budging that thing. And I have tried everything. Any ideas or tricks to get it off? Has anyone sent anything back to VA to get fixed? My favorite little dripper has me sooooooo frustrated! Other than that this is a phenomenal little mod. It hits hard and lasts me all day with 2 14500s. Help?

I wanted to give an update. I ended up going to the hardware store and getting a pair on "snap ring" pliers and was able to get off the delrin threaded part of the switch. They cost 15 bucks. I was able to get the switch apart and the locking ring was sticky because of delrin shreds in the threads. It was because it was slightly cross threaded. No biggie. I got the whole thing apart, cleaned it and got the delrin back on with the proper orientation of the threads. Smooth as silk now.

If anyone has this issue with the switch get the snap ring pliers and you are good to go. I use this little dripper every day and talk about a powerful little bugger. I have a 7/8 wrap of 26 gauge mod-wire around a 5/64" rod. Likely around 0.8-0.9 ohms. It hits beautifully and I can blow clouds like my Stillare V2 with it, and flavor is far superior. Granted the battery life is less, but 2 batteries get me through a day no prob.

I would love to have the big brother of the mini. it is simply well designed and the form factor and function are ideal for me. 2 big thumbs up for VA!

I am a believer that if vicious ant makes anything, it's quality. The 100W "box" mod is going to epic. The only concern I have may be battery life. I have had issues with that with VW devices running at high wattages.

100w of PWM is definitely going to be epic something. .
