2-3 months with charging 2 and 3 X a day,,,,,,,,,yep :)

Each battery is good for 200-300 charges,,,,,,,

it's one of the reasons some people give up on the Egos and go for a mod,,,,,,,,replaceable batteries that run 8-10 dollars each,,,,,,,rather than replacing the entire thing for 20 or 30 bucks.

I know, it drives me nuts too,,,,,,,you're spending 20 or 30 bucks for an Ego and then tossing it away after 3 months,,,,,,,

It could always be the center pin
It sometimes gets pushed down by the device
You can take a tweezers or something and kind of push on the sides of the center pin to push it up

I thought mine was done a few months ago and this worked
but its good also when you know your going to vape for a while to get a good mod
they work better and last longer

You guys are geniuses it's working after a little fiddling around with it,thanks!

I had the same problem (only 3 weeks usage) with one of the 2 that I got with my first kit. Like you, I fiddled with it and got it to work, for a while. I now have back ups for my back up. If any one of them dies, I'll order another (or 2).

I have been using ego type batteries for well over a year and have not had one go bad yet. I think the most important thing to do is keep them CLEAN. Each time I take my juice delivery device off to refill, I clean both the threads on the device AND the threads on the battery. Always clean the battery threads before putting it on your charger.

I've lost 3 batteries so far (in about 9 months of vaping). I've noticed that once the center-pin issue starts, it just gets worse, so while you can make it work, you should consider it to be a temporary fix and replace it asap.

I lost one to it bending on the stress point and pulling the battery from the sleeve, ripping the wires out. I just tossed it, too much hassle, and I was already having issues with the pin anyways. I will someday upgrade to the provari and use the recharables that way, but for now, the local shop sells ego-twists 900mah for $18, and they are a good quality. I keep two and cycle them one a day. Always have the 2nd one with me. Also have a 2nd charger after my original charger fried and I didn't have any backup.. ugh!

Two of everything, and soon it will be 3, just in case!

OK, thank you for this thrad.

a couple of questions:

Should I let the battery run down before recharging? I'm a habitual topper-upper.
What is this pin of which you speak? I see a blunt round post in mine, nothing pinlike.

Lithium batteries have better whole life when you top them off early. Letting them run down decreases batt life.

The pin is the center pin at the batt connection that hits the center pin on the clearo/atty/carto. Sometimes those pins get pushed down where no contact is made, making it look like the battery is dead when it isn't. Most of the time with Joye eGo batts, it's the center pin on the clearo that is pushed down. When 'pulling up' center pins on either - easy does it. The pin in the battery is connected to a wire inside - if you go too far, that can't break. The pin on the clearo is setting in a silicone base - too far and you have to reset it. It only takes a mm to make the connection so prying it up with a flat head screwdriver easily usually works.

To prevent this, when charging the batt, only tighten to where your battery blinks and the charger goes from green to red - no further. And when tightening a clearo, only go to where you start getting vapor.
