I wrapped a pair of claptons by hand. If that was the only way to make them, $30 would be cheap!!! Lol! But yeah, that's outrageous. A drill and a couple of fishing swivels is all you need and you can wrap 10' of clapton wire in 5 minutes.
Hmm. I wonder if they are worth a darn? That seem like a decent deal?
But, every time I use a wire of unknown quality is goes ZOT, it melts. Be it a fast tech pre-made, or a piece of wire that comes with a clone, it goes ZOT. Its gotten t the point I just toss out those pre-mades that come with clone RDA`s.
I can wind a coil of known quality and hit it for 15-20 seconds until its almost white and it does`nt bother it at all.
Specialty coils like Claptons are as much about the craft of making them as any perceived performance increase. Buying them kind of defeats the purpose.
