I have a question about storing the liter of nicotine I recently bought from MFS. I want to transfer it into 4oz amber glass bottles and store them in the freezer. Should I fill the bottles all the way to the top of the rim so there's no air, or should I leave a little room for expansion? I don't know if nicotine or the PG will expand so I don't know how much I should fill them. Thanks. :)

GoodDog,
Nicotine does not expand when you put it in the freezer, in fact it contracts (shrinks) in volume, or at least that is what I have found from my experience. And I personally think you should fill it as close to the top as possible to minimize the air content in the bottle, as oxygen is an oxidizer to nicotine. Less air = less oxygen = less oxidizing.
If you are worried about small leaks, just wrap the bottle in a paper towel, then put the bottle inside a zip lock bag before you put it in the freezer. The paper towel serves 2 purposes, first the small spill part, naturally, but secondly, it will also minimize the light getting to the liquid every time the freezer is opened.

Thanks for the info Levy. Oh no!!! Now you know I cheated on you and bought from someone else!! It was only because I was broke. :( You have the best nicotine and I always say that. :)

I was so shocked that I made the mistake of looking at the left column instead of the right.

Initially when I looked I saw that both columns had it in them. Whether it's .29 or .20 of Hexane. The fact is that
it's their. You are missing the point.

This product contains detectible Qty of a Poison.

Dude, you still got it wrong. LOOK at the report it says the spec is .029 and the RESULT is well below at .0020. The decimal point makes a huge difference.

BTW: Nicotine is also a poison

Tomzgreat you need to read a lot more closely. I don't know crap about this company, but look at the report the specification is 0.29 meaning thats what you get from nicotine , the value in the 470kg batch was 0.0020 percent. I left in the extra digit assuming the assay considered a signifcant digit. A 15 ml bottle of that undiluted would have 0.01 milliliters of hexane.
LD 50 data: Toxicity to Animals:
WARNING: THE LC50 VALUES HEREUNDER ARE ESTIMATED ON THE BASIS OF A 4-HOUR EXPOSURE. Acute oral
toxicity (LD50): 25000 mg/kg [Rat].

Based on that you would have to ingest the whole 470 kg lot of assayed nicotine in one sitting, before you were even a 1/10,000th of the way to dieing from hexane.

I know that lab reports can be confusing but ask for help in interpretation before throwing them around, and at least make sure you are referencing the actual result column! Aloha Brother.

I've got bad news for you- your dish drain has detectable levels of human feces, your drinking water has detectable levels of arsenic and other pollutants, the foods you eat have detectable levels of a variety of carcinogens etc (even if you grew or shepherded them yourself). What they probably do not have, nor does the assay show significant concentrations of a compound of concern (aside from nicotine) to create statistically relevant increases in disease, cancer, or decrease in human health.

You are probably exposed to more hexane filling up your car at the gas station than you are smoking an ecig for a year :) If it still concerns though quit the ecig but it's simply not a meaningful concentration, good luck and good travels :)

The fix is in. I saw .020. At the point that I wrote a post that was what was their. It's been changed, I can't prove it because I didn't do a screen capture. Choose to believe me or not.
