Peppermint is one of the few flavors I like all alone. These are my observations on a few popular ones. I included the percent I use, and I mix with 70/30 pg/vg, 20mg or so.

TFA Peppermint (Flavor Apprentice): 12%. This one has a hint of spearmint flavor in it. You can really notice it if you vape a pure peppermint flavor or have a peppermint breath mint to compare. I like it with a little Koolada and sweetener to make Doublemint Gum flavor, but it's not pure enough a flavor for my other recipes.

FW Candy Cane (Flavor West): 12-15%. Excellent, sweet, cool peppermint, just like a candy cane flavor. This is my favorite single-flavor peppermint all by itself at 12%. If you use 15% and add some Koolada it's a great clone of Halo Kringle's Curse juice.

FA Peppermint (FlavourArt): 4%. This is a creamy peppermint, less sweet than FW's. It makes more vapor than the others and requires less flavoring. It's not as 'cool' tasting as the others, but it's definitely the creamiest, and you can add Koolada for a cool effect. I think it needs it, about 1 drop per 3 ml of liquid.

Dekang Peppermint (premade from fasttech) 16mg. strength. This is juice rather than flavoring, but I thought I'd mention it. This is very strong menthol, enough to take your breath away compared to the others. There is some peppermint flavor in the background, but menthol almost drowns it out.

I just tried my test batches of FW Candy Cane and I concur. I settled on 12.5% Candy Cane in an 80/20 mixture. 15% bordered on bitter to me. I may even try at 10%. It doesn't taste exactly like the MBV Candy Cane that I purchased but close enough.

I also make Peppermint using Lorain Peppermint Oil at 4% mixed with FW Cotton Candy at 4% in an 80/20 mixture. Not a bad mix.

I haven't tried the Capella's.

TFA Mint Candy is a mild minty flavor with creaminess and a hint of vanilla. I don't detect the spearmint that TFA's "Peppermint" has. It's truly mint as opposed to menthol. It has a little more 'cool' to it than FA's Peppermint, but not as much as the others I mentioned earlier. It's sweeter than FA's, not as sweet as FW's Candy Cane.

Personally, if I wanted creamy vanilla peppermint, I'd make my own instead of using Mint Candy. FA Peppermint with Vanilla Classic and maybe extra Fresh Cream would be very good. For very creamy, sweet, rich vanilla-mint, I'd use FA Peppermint with FA Vienna Cream. That would surpass any vanilla-peppermint out there!

TFA's Creme de Menthe is not really a peppermint flavor, but I have to mention it. If you've tried the liqueur or the green center of Ande's Mints, this is the same flavor. It's not peppermint or spearmint, definitely not a menthol, just smoooth cool creme de menthe done perfectly, bit of an alcohol kick at the end if vaping fresh (I like that effect). This is the mint I think TFA does most accurately. It doesn't need anything added to it, but it sure mixes well with chocolate (whatever your favorite might be). Or with plain orange flavoring, it reminds me some of orange tic-tacs.
