I buy my juice online where they hand mix it per order and I love it. Lately my B&M started selling 12 monkeys juice and I fell in love with those so now I got a few of those bottles sitting around.

As I tend to get vape tongue during the day I change out my juice in rotation once I can't taste what I am vaping anymore

Think back, did a cigarette always taste consistently the same? Not for me, depended on mood, colds, weather, indoors, outdoors.... Plus it had a 4000 other chemicals making your dopamine system tell you that you liked it...

I do agree though, the complex USA premium juices always taste good for the first tank (unless steeped; in which case they are a shocking disappointment until steeped) and then one flavour out of the blend always dominates and one falls off.

Suicide bunny 'Derailed' supposed to be creamy, banana and cinnamon but ultimately ends up just tasting of banana, Mr Oh cookie Face, starts out as butterscotch cookie with Strawberry notes but ends up tasting sort of strawberry-ish, Clutch 'Hat Trick' starts of complex but ends up just tasting like 'sort of raspberry' for example...

then again that's using them in tanks, with coils that age over time.... if you drip they taste as they should all the time... they just need to make a tank that is wicked without cotton and uses a really big coil and then one day us tank users will be able to experience the complexity of the liquids....

I'm torn here..................

I'm a simple man. I like simple flavors.

I dialed my ADV in a year ago and use nothing else. I can make it in the dark in a 55 gallon drum stirred with a electric drill just by pouring the ingredients in.

But lately I been on this juice kick. Could be several things. Could be that which I thought to be true isn't (I'm a simple man). Could be after not smoking for so long I can actually taste again. Could be today's juice is just that good.

Big factor is today's juice uses little to no PG so the harshness is gone and its all just smooth flavor.

But the biggest factor and sadly a deal killer at least for me is nicotine. This is my stuck point.

Any juice over 6mg of nic is roadkill steeped in vomit.

Zero nic is the sweet spot. This is where I can actually get the complex flavors. Cause I do get it. And I like it.

But I don't use zero nic and prolly never will. This leaves 3 and 6. 3 doesn't ruin the taste much but does change it. And While I can get my nic off 3 at home chain vaping it does give me enough when I'm in a hurry.

So now I'm left with 6mg. 6 does change the flavor for the worst but its still manageable. But some of these juice don't really have the flavor come "alive" until over 50w. And I have a hard time going over 50w with 6mg personally.

So I stick with 6mg and stay at 50w or less. I am aware that by doing this I am leaving flavor on the table. So I don't bother spending good money on 6mg juice anymore. For flavor I stick with 3mg and should prolly get my mind around zero nic.

i have found there is a huge difference in nic taste quality my first DIY liquids used nic on 50/50 base that was brownish and smelled /tasted strongly of cigarettes, it seariously messed up all i made

ive tried several the nic i use now is completely clear almost no odor 100mg/ml on pure pg
from this i have no issues

Awesome responses! Thanks all. I think I just need to keep plugging away at DIY and refine some simple flavors. My main DIY vape is a vanilla custard using Capellas V1. Trying to develop some other plain fruit flavors that taste good. Have a peach that is decent, but not quite perfect yet. Looking for the best raspberry flavoring out there, but most of them taste nothing like raspberry. Don't get me wrong, it doesn't have to be perfect, but it has to taste good. As far as the taste of the nic, I really like Wizard Labs, never even tasted the nic besides a little nice throat hit.

I used to buy various e-juices, some of which I actually liked. Some of which were merely tolerable.
Then I moved cross country. New area has many vape shops, all geared towards connoisseurs it seems.
I went into one while awaiting a delayed vape mail shipment. I was looking for some reasonably priced strawberry/cherry/fruit 12mg juice.
"Oh, you have to try this one. It has subtle undertones of persimmon and lavender on the exhale"
Huh? I'm looking for 50 ml of strawberry for 20 bucks.
Then some of the customers started piping up "Oh, you don't want to vape that crap, try the Old Farglesworth, wow what a sweet blend of nuts and a creamy finish"
Yeah, I think I'll just go to the gas station and vape their swill until my package arrives.
Shortly thereafter, I started DIY.
Now, I love about 8 of the concoctions I've created. I've vaped all I created except one. That one, well, probably like Old Farglesworth. Guess I'm not sophisticated enough.
I mix a maximum of 2 flavors, rarely higher than 12% total. Love it. I swap flavors each refill, which around here usually means 3-4 flavors a day.
I've tried high end e-juice, but just don't care for it enough to pay those prices.
But then, I drink call liquor when I go out.

I think the trend in vaping is heading toward the elite (read costly) mods, tanks, coils, and especially e-juice. I will bite on anything of actual value, but I don't care about bragging rights. While I have the SX Mini ML I also have an eVic Mini 75W TC. Truth be told, they vape my tanks, coils, and juice the same. Durability may be a different story.

And this is partly why I vape nets, with one notable exception, exclusively.

Even the exception (manabush nokimis & coyote) I vape in 'sessions' rather than all day. It gets overpowering

Whilst nets, though the flavour evens out with all day use, still taste acceptable.

Would you eat cereal all day, or fruit or custard...would you drink coffee all day or rum....hence 'flavoured' e juices start to taste unpalatable after regular use.

Whereas nets, though nothing like analogues (and far tastier) , suit adv'ing.

In my opinion anyway!

While most of what I vape is DIY, there are a few liquids that I have never been able to reproduce, or even come close to reproducing. Unfortunately, one of the companies no longer ships to Canada and I have to get my fix via devious methods.

There are some complex flavors that are very, very good. Just wish I could get my hands on the recipe to recreate it at home, rather than going through the hassles of getting it across the border.
