Hey all,

I'm slightly concerned about the black coating on these units...just out of curiousity last night, I had rubbed my finger nail around a small part of the INSIDE of the button hole (if you press the button in you can feel around the edges of the hole cut out) just to see if anything would scrape off and sure enough the black came right off to the metal color below. You really can't see it because it's barely visible and I did that on purpose just in case it actually did scratch off.

So is it safe to say that if this thing falls over or gets knocked in to things that it will scratch the black coating off of the device? I'm somewhat frustrated with that and I could have sworn on ProVape's website that it said scratch proof but what it says is fingerprint proof:) So anyways not a deal breaker or anything but I just wanted to know so I can be extra careful with this thing. The last thing I want is to get marks on this for the money that I spent on it.

Thanks!

OK so it's to be expected, no that's fine, I have tried the Sharpie trick before and you can tell the color difference:) Although for any larger marks that I get in the future I might try it again.

BTW so I don't have to start another thread, do you all recommend buying that "Noalox" for the threading? If so do I only use it for the bottom cap threading or also the 510 threading? I can see that my bottom cap came pre lubed:blink:

I happy with durability of the black ceramic. Mine's my all day carry regardless of what I'm doing. It's taken a couple good falls/drops and once came up mint and the other just a small minor surface mar (not even down to bare metal). Both time's I was amazed it didn't do more harm w/ respect to how hard it hit.
