Hello ECF, I'm a new member and VERY recently started vaping. I'm desperately trying to quit analogs, I smoke 1 PAD (not one today :)). I ordered a kanger evod starter kit and it should get here around monday. I couldn't wait that long so I picked up a 10$ Blucig at the gas station up the road. I have conerns about the throat-hit and heat it's going to produce. Will it be comparable to a blu? FOr the record, the Blu is working wonders for me, I'm really enjoying the throat-hit and taste as well as the heat behind it. I was a bit hasty in my decision to get the kanger evod, so any information about how the product works will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance all, I feel like I found a great community here.

Early days, so best to see how you feel when you get the evod kit.

f.w.i.w. almost any e-cig will seem to produce TH, taste and heat at first. It's not the same as smoking.

It's unlikely you'll regret buying the Kanger kit, in reality, as you get used to vaping, the Blu will start to seem "normal" and then most people look for more. :)

(I think that's the best I can say). I used a Blu-equivalent for about a week and thought it was terrific.... but once I'd acclimatized, I realised it wasn't enough.

I started with NJoy and Blu disposables while waiting for an Evod kit. The Evod kit is SO much better. It's a great starter.

The Blu's throat hit is mostly coming from the nicotine. It's approximately 24mg/mL. If that satisfies your desire for nicotine, does not make you woozy, and does not leave your tongue and throat feeling burned, you might want to try other juices with around 24mg nicotine. If it does not satisfy your nicotine craving, go a little higher. If it makes you feel woozy or burned, go a little lower. (It probably wouldn't hurt to have a couple of juices at different nic levels starting out.)

I personally think you will notice a big difference when you get your kit. I just wanted to cut down on smoking but the vaping got so good.... I just quit without really trying. So I wish you all good luck. I never thought I would quit but it has been six months which I know is that long but for me........ I've tried to quit most of my life. You will have give us some updates on how well you are doing. :vapor:

The evod kit is a very good setup to get, finding flavors you enjoy is the tricky part.

This^^^^ x 100 Yesterday I made the decision to go analog free. I had been vaping alongside smoking analogs for a solid week, as that was what the guy at the local vape bar said to do. In that week I realized that I loved vaping and was only smoking analogs because I thought I needed them..The espresso and cinnamon flavors that I loved the most did not cut it once I quit analogs. I needed that pseudo tobacco taste and once I went and got it, I tell you what.....someone needs to pinch me because I think I am dreaming this up.... the ease... the blessing this whole vaping experience has been....

Good Luck OP

You should be happy with the evod kit to start with. You should have a better experience than with the Blu. You need to find a few juices to vape. As a 1 pad smoker I would get a couple of bottles of 24mg and a couple of 28mg nicotine. See which level works for you. Here is a thread to find some popular juice vendors.

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...discussion/304212-top-5-vendors-e-liquid.html

Finding a juice you like and the right nicotine level for you is your next search. It usually takes a little bit to determine what is right for you. Don't get discouraged if you do not like the first couple you try. The nicotine level is most important. Too high and you will feel dizzy and not well if you vape too much. Too little and you will have cravings for cigarettes. It is also ok to smoke a cigarette if you need to. Vaping does not have to be an all or nothing thing, especially when starting out.

Keep posting here and let us know how you are doing. Also, go and read on the forums about your new evod kit so you can learn how it works and how to maintain it. Lots of reading to do. Welcome to ECF. Have fun with this.

I started with those (might as well be disposable- they were complete junk) SmokeTip cigs a few years back. Then I upgraded to a DSE801, then an eGo-T this year, then I got a Kanger CEX clearo for the eGo battery... I managed to make a new coil for the CEX (I know, right?) and I went absolutely bonkers this week finally. I got an Oddy clone at a local shop yesterday, and then I ordered an Innokin SVD, along with 100ft of Kanthal A1 and 100ft of nickel wire.. got a set of picks, some fine needle nose pliers, 4 batts.. the list goes on.

Anyway, the SmokeTip was harsh for me at first also, and only mildly settled my cravings for tobacco. All of my friends who I turned to the "dark side" of vaping reported burning in the throat also at first. You'll get used to it. The thing that will definitely be the deciding factor of if you switch or not is a mental factor, and that's pretty much it alone. You have to WANT to get into vaping instead of smoking. You have to KNOW and TRUST yourself that you can un-do your smoking habit and transform it into a vaping habit.

As for that, plan an exit strategy as well. For example, I only ever smoked non-filtered cigs and cigars.. BIG cigars, 2 a day and full inhalation. That said, I started on 28mg nictone liquid. Since then I've worked my way down to 18, and hopefully by the end of next year I'll be on 0 nic and kicking the only habit left over- the habit of actually using the device.

As of now, my lungs are healthier, I am healthier, my breath doesn't stink all the time, I can get my fix at work (I'm a school teacher) without anyone knowing, I am sick FAR less often, and I can actually exercise now! These are some of the main things you can look forward to doing when you switch over.

Good luck, sir!
