So I had made the decision to buy an ipv 2S because it was the smack dab in the middle Box Mod as far as Wattage was concerned. But then I couldn't find anything about it having a vent for the batteries since they made it waterproof, and the ipv 2 had battery vents. Does anyone know if the safety features on the IPV 2S are good enough that I don't need to worry about it? Does the IPV 3 have vents (didn't want to go that high since it's a bit overkill for me)? I'm trying to get the safest device possible but not go with outdated tech. Thanks!

I have nothing bad to say about it so far. I knew the touch sensor wasn't hooked up prior to buying it. I didn't know there would be no charging cable, but I'm fine with removing the batteries to charge them. Takes 2 minutes. Overall it feels pretty solid. I'm using the Xtar "VTC4" 's, which are slightly taller than the regular Sonys, so maybe that helps with the battery bay issue you mentioned. No problems with the buttons yet either. I just had to put a Jwrap on it to give it a little character!

@dc99 my issue isn't with the 2 itself it's with the newer IPV2S. It's the 60 Watt version with the upgradability to 75 watts. They improved the design of the original IPV 2 but in the 2S they made it water proof, which tells me they removed the vents in order to keep it all self contained. But if they did that I would hope that the fail safes would be higher given it doesn't give you any venting for the battery bay.

Ok for those wondering... I messaged a user on the forums who owns one and he informed me that the unit isn't waterproof, it's water resistant, as far as getting liquid into the buttons and battery bay. He also said that the bottom of the unit features 27 (compared to the 30 on the ipv2) vent holes. I will do a bit more digging to verify, but I find the info reliable.
