A scratched mod shows a mod that has been used a lot in my opinion. I only have one device I use which is a Reo Grand. Originally it was black and a green door. Now it's black with aluminium and green door. It takes a fall almost every day, fallen 2 stories off of ladders. Dings in the corners also.

To me, it's not the way it looks. It's how durable it is. My Reo has been through hell in the time I've used it. It works just as well as it did on day one despite it changing appearance through that time.

These were pictures back in November 2015 I took. It's much worse now haha
My daily mod and the abuse it can go through

Abuse is scratching your mod, not time. My co-worker has a rx200 that he has owned for 2 weeks and it looks terrible. I take care of mine, both look like they just came out of the box. I've had mine longer.

Be gentle. Neither of us use skins or cases.

I will say that it's probably much easier with a 3 battery mod, like an rx200 or something similar. They are shaped in a way that isn't easy to knock over. But then again, my co-worker has them looking terrible in two weeks, because he doesn't take care of them.

Maybe I just shouldn't worry about it. It's just like at work I'll leave it in my pocket and stuff like that. Hey though, it gets wear and tear just like everything else

Exactly. Either be very very careful and I would avoid pockets ... or let them wear. As long as they work :) The fact that they still work is way more important :)

You really think so?

I do. RX200's and the likes have a triangular base. They don't fall over like a mod that takes a dual or single 18650.

If I accidentally brush my hand against a rx200, it scoots. It doesn't get knocked on it's side. Two battery mods aren't as bad ... A mod that takes one 18650 will be the worst. ... In terms of being knocked over. It's all about the weight in the base and that weight comes from the batteries.

Yeah that's true. I just have no where to put it besides my pocket at work bedside I'm a painter haha

The important part is that they work and you're not smoking. Who cares what they look like. I have a desk job, but I do travel around to different offices on a regular basis. I keep a plastic grocery bag in my car so I can securely keep my mod in a cup holder while I'm driving.

If i were a painter, I might be inclined to get on etsy and find someone who could make a belt holster for your mod.

Painter, roofer, construction worker, ..... There has to be something out there or something that someone can make that would accommodate your needs.

You could get a J Wrap or silicone sleeve.

Are the RX200 sleeves from fasttech top notch? This is coming from a guy who hates iphone cases. I have the thinnest little case of my phone that is known to man. Just wondering if the mod sleeves are going to cut it for me.

Hmmm, lets see here...

2 SVD 1.0 - Minor scratches, 3yrs
1 Cartel Mechanical Brass - One Ding on bottom, 3yrs
2 Nemesis Mechanicals - Dinged and scratched like crazy, being clones I expected them to take abuse at work, 3yrs
1 Kylin Mech (Pisces Clone) - Scratched up like crazy, another work mod, 3yrs
1 Reo Grande - Bought Used, no scratches, 1 rebuild after first bought it, 3yrs
1 IPV3 Ver1 - Bought it used, was scratched up by previous owner who had it only 3 months, had to rescue it, 2yrs
1 Sigelei 150watt - Minor Scratches from wear - 2yrs
1 Sigelei 30watt Mini - Minor Scratches as it is my current carry to work mod, 1.5yrs
1 SVD 2.0 - No scratches as it stays at home on my computer desk, 1.5yrs
1 Provari 2.5 Mini - No scratches, sits next to the SVD 2.0 at the computer desk, 8months
1 Kbox70watt - Minor scratches around the top and bottom plates, 6months <-Bad Paint Job
1 Evic VTC Mini - Minor Scratches bottom, 5months
1 Kbox Mini (75watt) - Minor Scratches and peeling, 4months <-Bad Paint Job

Quality of the manufacturer's design has to be taken into account as well. Eleaf, Joyetech, Kanger, and several other low priced mods suffer drastically with daily abuse.
