OK so I am still relatively new to this so bear with me. I started with an ego kit and disposable clearomizers. Things were going quite well for me considering I was just starting out. Now, the kit battery konked on me and the store said they would exchange. After reading numerous people here, I decided to go with a kgo kit this time. This also came with the disposable clearomizers. Now, with this new setup, I am constantly getting burnt pulls. I have tried different clearos as well. Same outcome. I know the kgo spits more voltage than the ego, but is this the reason?? I am very confused at this point. The clearos have a rating of 2 ohms so I think that should be enough. Any help on my possible fix would be greatly appreciated.

I use KGOs, and almost never get burnt hits from clearos. (Exception is when I let them run too low or don't keep the wicks wet, of course.) 2 ohms should be fine. What kind of clearos are you using? I pretty much never go below 3.7 volts on anything, though I usually run with 2.4 ohms. Anything else makes the juice taste weak.

Wow ok so this makes me think something is up. Thus why I am confused. This is happening when my clearos are filled all the way up. The clearos I am using are the ones from hoosier e-cig kit. They are on the site as SLB 2.0ohm EGO Clearomizers. I have also tried a smok ReDux CE5 that I purchased from MBV rated at 1.8 ohm + .02.

Hmm. I've never tried those. To be honest, I like my ohms a little higher than the "perfect" area. (I think if you do a search on ECF, you should find a "vaping power guide" in excel format.) Maybe you're more sensitive, too. Are the clearos rebuildable? If so, you could try some heads with more ohms.
Someone please chip in if you think I'm full of it. All I know is that 2.4 is what I tend to use.

It's possible but with that low vg it should be ok. You can mod the heads slightly to allow more juice to flow into the coil. Take a pair of cuticle trimming scissors and clip a very small piece of the clear plastic piece that fits down over the head just above your wicks. Be careful to take off a very small piece. That should unrestict the juice flow. As always ymmv.

Thanks i will give it a try. You think the vivi will help with this though?

Here's a power chart, not sure if it will help you or not

Baums invited me into this discussion, and I will try to contribute as I can.

To be honest, I no longer use clearomizers; the last one that I used was several months ago when one literally melted in my hands 5 minutes after adding some strawberry lemonade flavored e-liquid to it. I immediately went to pyrex cartotanks after that and never looked back.

The same holds true with the Vivi Nova tanks. Bought three of them, and have given them all away to beginner vapors. I had similar issues that many of you are experiencing: inconsistant flavor and dry hits.

I do recommend clearomizers and Vivi Nova tanks to beginners, but only because of their ease of use. Once they have gained some experience, I recommend they move on to a cartotank.

I believe the string-wicked devices are just inferior to other juice carrying devices, just my humble opinion. If you think about it, they only have 2-4 strings delivering juice (flavor) to the heating coil. That's not much surface area. A cartomizer' filler material totally surrounds the heating coil, probably 10X the surface area. In addition, using a cartomizer in a tank, the tank continuously supplies juice to the cartomizer each time you take a vape, which prolongs the cartomizer's life.

You don't need to continuously be aware of "tilting" a carto or carto tank for it to wick properly. Each time you vape, the suction causes more liquid to enter the cartomizer from the tank. The better tanks do not leak and they don't break. They don't come off from your power device; you train yourself from the beginning to pick your device up from the device itself - not by the tank. I keep my PV's topped with a cartotank in my front pants pocket all the time, they have never leaked. The tanks have never pulled off from the device accidentally.

I have a bad habit of laying my PV on my lap while driving. I have often forgotten that it is there when I get out of my car, and it and my pyrex IBTanks go sprawling onto the parking lot asphault. None have broken thus far. If you are concerned about a pyrex tank cracking, the polypropylene-tubed cartotanks are even more durable against breaking.

My recommendation is to give cartotanks a try. I've been using them exclusively for several months and couldn't be happier. Read my blogs on cartomizers and tanks here and if you have further question feel free to ask.
