Confused Marlboro Ultra Lights Noob

You people are a great help in many areas, but are also confusing the hell out of me. I'm on information overload. I've read a bunch of great info that will help me out as I make the switch to e-cigs, but am still not sure what to buy or where to buy it. I'm thinking the 510 (whatever that is) from Litecig.net. Could someone help me?

I'm a 20 year, 2-2 1/2 half pack a day smoker of Marlboro Ultra Lights. I don't care about flavorings or anything like that. I am just trying to keep the promises I made to my wife and daughter to quit smoking and live longer.

At home, I just need a smoke now and then. I guess I enjoy the whole process, from the nicotine to the hit. At work, it is more of a routine thing. I've tried the patch, gum and medication, but the process of smoking still kept dragging me back, particularly at work. I don't really care about cost--I'm not wealthy, but just believe you get what you pay for and want a quality product.

Any advice, help or kicks in the right direction would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Look at the eGo or Riva from liberty flights...click the 20% discount button at the top...everyone that has these love them for hit and battery life. Also, get a good battery Mod like a Silver Bullet(this is just an example...there are many to choose from) for a strong warm vape. Try some boge cartomizers and get some 510 atomizers and drip tips.

For juice try madvapes chinese USA blend.

That should get you started and then you can try lots of different stuff out there...my 2c:)

I recommend you to get this MadVapes 510 Ego Mega Dual Coil Cartomizer Kit
And try to get some e-liquids with various strengths, to match your nicotine cravings. That kit are easy to use, and will be enough for daily use without charging. You will need to charge them before you go to sleep, and the next day they will be ready to use again. Flavor suggestion: FSUSA Purecig [www.freedomsmokeusa.com], Tasty Vapor Tobacco [www.tastyvapor.us]
And you can try several beverage/candy/dessert flavor, you'll be surprised how good they are.

Dont overthink everything thats said in the forum. Do some research in you tube, there are tons of review videos about mods, atomizers (attys) and cartomizers (carts) and the varions connection ends..like the standard 510 connection, 901 and 801 connections, that just refers to the way the atomizer threads onto the device your using. Since most everyplace sells 510, I would suggest that you stay with a device that threads a 510 atty or cart.

You already ave a $12 a day or more habit so cost shouldnt be much of a factor, a really good Ego kit...the Egp is an industry standard...just about everyone into e-cigs has one or knows about them...I would go to Hoosier E Cig Supply and look at their Kgo kit..similar to an Ego but a stronger battery, its on sale for like $45.00 and it has everything you need to get going, I would buy some juices for your kit as well as some clear dual coil cartomizers from them as well, they are $2.00 a piece, the blue label ones are what you want, and the juice you buy will depend on your taste...a good tobacco flavor or menthol..or RY4...which is a tobacco caramel flavor, and is very good. You tube has some really good videos on the dual coil cartomizers, a great investment..makes vaping easyier, and almost like a cigarette....except no bad smells.

Good luck...dont be shy about asking the members here for any help...tons of great people here.

I swear by anything made by Joye. They seem to be the most solid built of all the standard batteries. I've had the eGo 900 mah for about 3 months and still getting about 24 hours per charge. But I would recommend Liberty Flights just in case you do get a bad battery(2 month guarantee). And with the quantity and type you smoked, I would suggest starting between 12 and 18 mg liquid with low resistance cartomizers(around 1.7 to 2.0 ohm).
As for the liquid itself, there will be arguments for eternity. In my short time vaping, I've tried about 150 flavors from different companies. I found some good, some bad, and a lot that just weren't right for me. I didn't find any I could vape all day until I started making my own. The Pay It Forward is an awesome group to help with trading juices that you don't like to try more and even getting a few freebies.

You're sure to get lots of opinions around here! All good too. I prefer an Ego (which is 510 threading) with a cartomizer now, but just starting out - I'd say that the easiest thing to use is vapor4life's model with prefilled cartomizers. It's a different threading than the Ego - but I'm just saying that for a beginner - V4L is a great place to start. Get on their mailing list to get coupon discounts too.
Then, you'll probably fall in love with vaping and start making a wishlist after reading around this forum - and go with the mods, egos etc...
Good luck to you!

2 and a half pack a day smoker - if you get one of the little ones that looks like a cigarette, you will just keep smoking.

At a minimum, you need to get an eGo or Riva model. But a better alternative to those two is the E-Power.

E-Power: e-Power

Better performance and MUCH less expensive batteries.

Based on how much you smoked, in reality you should consider one of the better models on the market, that performs better than any 3.7 volt PV. I would look at the 5 volt GLV2:

Electronic Cigarettes and E-Liquid - Great Lakes Vapor

And definitely start out with 24mg eliquid and manual batteries.

Good Luck

here is probably the best advice ever... Read all of the opinions , go read all of the stickies, goto the ecf library, and use that advice like you were buying a car.. some people start out with a honda, some say no toyota, some live by the ford and others a chevy.. make an informed choice based on what you can afford, what might be easiest to start out with for you and use the knowledge of ecf to help you

short battery life (very short) Joye 510 manual and I recommend regular 510, not 510-T (you can always put a tank atty and tanks on a regular 510). Manual batteries make it easier to get a good hit, much harder to damage or kill a battery with a juice leak. You can use a drip tip with manual batteries. Joye 510 manuals are totally sealed metal on the threaded end of the battery.
1.8 hours of moderate vaping per charge (1-3 hours depending on how often you vape)
(see Liberty-Flights.com and press the 20% off first or see LiteCigUSA.net)
And a good PCC case at NoSmokeVA.com

longer - Joye 510 mega xl manual (2.8 hours moderate vaping or 3-5 hours depending on how often you vape). But this is longer - 128m w/ a cartomizer or longer with atty+cart
I know FreedomSmokeUSA has some Joye 510 mega xl kits. I use the short 510's above w/ the NoSMokeVA PCC and a charger at work, and at home I have a joye mega xl manual battery and plan to get another.

I don't recommend KR808D-1 as a first ecig for an ultralights smoker - too hot

For longer charge (much longer), you need the fat battery models (Ego, Riva 510 - from Liberty-Flights.com and press the 20% off first), But as an ultralights smoker you do not need the extra heat of the LR (low resistance) atomizers/cartomizers the fat battery models can use - these may be too hot for you. So if you get one of these and the one you get comes with atomizers int eh low 2's like 2.2 ohm then i recommend you pick up a standard resistance atomizer too.

On all 510-threaded models I recommend trying Boge cartomizers with your favorite thinner juices, An Ultralights smoker would like the standard resistance (what I use on slim 510 and Riva 510, and the only kind a slim 510 can use)

Juice - I was a Capri Ultralights smoker (then a Pall Mall lights smoker because they were cheaper but I hated those). My first all day vape was Backwoods Brew Casablanca so you might like that. And I recommend an ulralights smoker try both 16-18mg and 10-12mg juices and see which you like.

Hey Coffeeguy and welcome to the ECF. You will ultimately get a lot of different opinions on here but the secret is to find what works for you. Most of the opinions on here are about what works for them. Nothing wrong with it. Just sayin to make up your own mind in the end even if it goes against the grain so to speak.

Some of the things you will need to consider have mainly to do with how and why you smoke to begin with. Is there a particular feel you are looking for both in your hand and in your mouth / lungs?

What is more important - feeling like a analog in your hand or having a longer lasting battery?

Are there any activities you do that may preclude a certain type, size or style of PV?

As far a juice goes you smoke a lot of analogs a day but they are ultra lights. So likely 12 mg juice would be a good starting point. You'll still be able to chain vape at that level. If you don't want to vape as much but still get the same amount of nic than maybe move up to 18 or 24 mg juice.

Seeing as your a Philly guy I would recommend getting in touch with Johnny over at Electronic Cigarette Store | Ecigs | Electronic Cigarettes and e-juice by e-cigg!. They are Philly based and carry a variety of 510 based PV's and juices. I believe every week they have a get together at a Philly watering hole with fellow vapors which would give you a chance to meet some local support and maybe try out a few different types of PV's to see how you like them. They also have a section in the suppliers forum Ecigg

I feel the same way towards what didn't work when I tried to quit. So, vaping is gonna work for you as long as you stick with it. As your a beginner trying to transition into vaping than I would highly suggest that you get a Volt pro kit:

Smokeless Image | Only The Best Electronic Cigarette | Volt - Pro Starter Kit - Starter Kits
*get the 78mm batteries which last roughly 4 hours and this kit includes a pcc (portable charging case). So, you won't have to worry about it going out on you during the day since it can charge batteries 4 times. Which will definitely last you through your shift and then some.

It looks like a cigarette and performs in pretty much the same way. I would some extra packs of blank cartomizers that they have as well. This will allow you to test different flavors and see what you like. Since your a marlboro light smoker than I would suggest you get some US marshall from here:

https://www.nitelitevapor.us/shop/c...W1IcnOBxH9lNhTfFj11KPeDTC16J&shop_param=cid=&

Get some 10 mil bottles of everything that you wanna try out. Since this vendor deals with mostly tobacco flavors than this will be ideal to a person that just quit. Plus, this is one of the vendors that is really making a name for themselves at this time with great prices, products, and customer service.

Congratulations on trying to quit. This will only prolong your life in the long run and it's WAY better for your health.

I was a 2-3 PAD Marl UL smoker and I use the kr808ds... here is my suggestion:

1) Blow off the 501s the batteries will be a hassle

2) This leaves you with 2 choices
a) If you want it to look like a cig and don't mind running 3-4 batteries and chargers at all times then kr808--Bloog or Volt
b) If you don't care if it looks bigger and don't want to hassle with batteries get ego/riva/some/mod

Remember, if you are a heavy smoker like me and you use the 808ds (like me) you will probably have to have 3-4 batteries going and deal with personal charging cases for events/work. I like it but it can be a pain...

I was also on Marlboro Ultra Lights until getting my Joye 510 manual. I quickly found that the juices I liked out of the variety packs I ordered were far better tasting than the ultralights (honestly though, Ultra-lights were not known for flavor )

If you were a 2.5 pack a day smoker, I'd take the advice of these guys and get something with a bigger battery. I was a PAD smoker, and thought my two 510 batteries and my PCC would be enough, but I ended up still bringing my charger to work because I vape too much for even the PCC. I also noticed I vaped a lot more than I smoked when starting out, which doesn't really help with the battery life either.
