So I have been vaping for only three days and I am all over the place reference Nicotine MG. The first day of vaping I was vaping 18MG of Nicotine. I was getting head rushing and a bit of Nausea, so I dropped all the way down to 6Mg and still had the head rushes. I have tried all different volt settings.

I used to smoke almost two pack of Camel Platinums (used to be Ultra Lights), a day. What am I doing wrong?

I'm just curious as to how much liquid. I find that with higher quality gear and more power, I had to step back a bit as I was getting the nausea, headache, etc. from too much nicotine (better vaping) where as with my starter stuff, I didn't experience it that much. I just backed down until I was satisfied (i.e. not craving) versus vaping like a maniac. :)

VK today I have strictly only Vaped 6MG juice.

I think VikingQueen wanted to know how much you're vaping 'volume' wise (as opposed to Nicotine strength).. in mls.... such as 3 ml, 5 ml....

I have a 'theory' about new Vapers who were heavy smokers.... some of them have such badly damaged lungs it takes a while to transition smoothly to eCigs. It's just a 'theory' however and I wish you success during the transition :smokie:

Note that vaping is a different experience than smoking.

It will take approximately 3 weeks of not smoking a real cig to get past most of the craziness.
Week 4 will be better, and week 6 will be great.

Some of the side effects may be due to the change from smoking to vaping.

Keep in mind that you are going through withdraws, not from nicotine,
as much as the other 4000+ chems you are not inhaling any longer.

I had similar issues.
Personally, I would stick with 18mg for now, and wait. Maybe try not to vape as much, try to hold out as long as possible

start with this thread.

And Drink Lots of Fluids, especially water. Lot's of water for a while.

Again, the first 3 weeks will be the worst of it, after week 6 or week 8, depending on the person, it will be all in the mental habit, not the physical habit.

trying to ween myself off nicotine, was a 1.5 pac a day for 40 yrs
wife doing same but she is convinced she needs 18mg-24mg strength
I have 6mg and 12mg

when I switch around, (mostly for flavors) and I vape her 'strong' stuff I get same effect you describe

I kinda joking around tell her "I am OD-ing on nicotine"

I just kinda slow down and return to my 6-12mg juices...

not sure if I am making it up in my mind, but somethings going on...

guessing I go thru about 2 -3 mL a day (not sure)

try backing off some -- best of luck to ya

Don't give up hope! There are a ton of folks on here who have smoked a lot for a very long period of time (I was just over 25 years, anywhere from a pack to 3 packs a day). I made sure to not "pressure" myself. That is a long time to do anything. Just try different things out. I tried physically vaping like some of the pros and it wasn't for me. I ended up finding my own style (I actually vape like I smoked).

You'll get this, but know that most of us have been there; you're not alone!

One last thing.... Vaping is a personal experience. What is right for one person is not right for another.

You have to find what works for you, this won't be easy, but if you take quitting seriously,
and have fun trying new things and finding the combination that works for you, you will get there.

Vaping experience is all based on personal taste and good hardware that works for you as an individual.

btw, I smoked for 30 years, about a pack+ a day.

I just started vaping a week ago Saturday. I was/am a 2 pack a day Marlboro 100s reds for 45 years. Read the links provided here about how to vape - it is a different process than smoking a cigarette and a little weird to get used to in the beginning, especially if you were a heavy smoker. All but 2 of the first juices I bought were 18mg because I was afraid I would overdose on the 24mg. I found when I used the 18mg only I had to also smoke. When I used the 24mg nic juices I did not smoke at all and was not craving the cigarette. I had to run out today and buy more 24mg - after a few hours of using just that I found I did not need the cigarettes, my craving seemed to be more successfully satisfied.

And it is an individual thing. Everyone will be different. If you let half your cigarettes burn out in the ashtray, you were really not smoking as much as I, who took every drag I could from the cigarette. It is good you have several different levels of nicotine to try. Just read those two threads referenced here.

Welcome to ECF and good luck vaping. You will enjoy it here and there are some great people here. Don't be afraid to ask questions.
