Connector for voltage meter

This is a nice voltage meter that would be easy to make, but I don't know what connector to use for the end that connects to the PV. Do you cannibalize an atomizer to use for that connector? Can you buy a female connector? Is there a gender switcher to turn a male connector into a female connector?

I just use dead atomizer connectors , but you can buy them at madvapes if you would rather take that route. 510 Atomizer Connector, Assembled

Thanks, Java. I like the MadVapes connector. I'm thinking two would work. I could put one through the hole in the plastic box, and use the second one on the outside of the box to tighten it down. I'm afraid if I only use one, then the thickness of the plastic box will stop it from making a good connection to the PV.

That is a press fit. There are no threads on the inside to stack them like a nut and bolt. You need to make your hole just the right size and press the connector in and then maybe epoxy it for added strength.

you could use an ego charger extension, youll get both connectors. may not be the cheapest route unless you have one already

Thanks, bstedh. You saved me a little money and a lot of frustration. There are no threads inside the 510 Atomizer Connector, Assembled. Two of the V2 510 Shorty Extension might work unless the thickness of the plastic box stopped one extension from bottoming out in the other so that there was no electrical connection.

I think you would have the problem you described due to the thickness of the case. The shorty extension is $7... way over priced. I purchased one when they where cheaper and really liked it but I won't spend that much for another one.

I think for a little more rigidity you could use the press fit and make a couple of cuts in the portion that extends through the body and then bend them over and then epoxy. I have not tried that to see weather or not it would just snap off or bend but it might be worth a try.

A large part of the fun of modding is just trying several things until you find what you like or works best. It may take a couple of failures to get there but you have fun on the way...
