I have been completely tobacco free for a week now. Five days ago I noticed this familiar flavor in my mouth when drinking a cup of coffee. It is a sweet tart type flavor, kinda sweet with an acidy sour. I thought it was residual from a pineapple / mango / orange e-liquid that I had used earlier in the day. I have not used that e-liquid or any fruit flavored e-liquids for over 72 hours but I am still getting this flavor in my mouth. It is most noticeable after eating or drinking. This is not unpleasant at all, just a bit confusing.

Anybody ever experience this or have any idea why I am experiencing it?

I think I have, and it took a good 3 weeks to go away. Not vaper's tongue, because you can still taste the juice, but a constant sweetish taste. Mine had a grape-ish taste, and it happened a couple days after I started vaping a grape flavored juice, but didn't go away when I stopped. Yeah, it could be an over-reactive taste bud or something. I started a thread about it and no one was really able to enlighten me as to what the problem was. I will say that this has happened to me several times before a long time ago, before I ever started vaping.

+1 for alisa's advice. Taste buds kick into overdrive when you quit smoking...they've been muted for so long to deal with the strong-hot flavor from the smoke. Think of when you've been around a strong smell for a long time (perfume/cologne you're wearing for example) and you can no longer smell it because you've "acclimated" to it. Smell and taste are VERY closely related and often, one in the same. You're taste buds are working REALLY well now and they're relearning how to cope with all the flavors (and smells) they're now experiencing. Vape less, vape a bit cooler (lower voltage and/or HIGHER resistance atomizers) and drink drink drink water. Drying out of the tongue is your biggest enemy. Also brush your tongue, YES...your tongue really well every time you brush your teeth to help clean and slough off taste bud cells as they regenerate (about every 3 weeks). It is temporary and a small price to pay for however long you smoked the nasties!! Stay the course and you'll be MUCH happier and so will those around you and those who love you!! ;)

Lol, just got done eating dinner and I feel as though I followed it up with a glass of orange juice. As I said, it is not an unpleasant taste. The "small price to pay" is very small.
