Suggestion for those who have complained about being barred from commenting. Create a Facebook account using a pseudonym and don't set up any friendships. Just use the account to login to allow you to leave comments on annoying articles. I guarantee you that if you have no Facebook Friends, you won't waste much time on the site.

Unfortunately, I don't do Facebook as a matter of principle.
There are plenty of others who can comment though.

It’s not that bad to have a Facebook account. It can be time consuming if you let it, but social media actually holds great power. FB, Google+ and Twitter are places to get and share information about things that matter to me and I haven’t lost touch with my friends because of this.

The real value of social networks is the power of getting our voices heard by people in and outside our network. Things that matter are often repeated outside our own networks, making information we want to get out available to a lot more people than we can imagine.

For example Arab Spring happened largely because information was spread in Facebook straight from the source in a matter of seconds, instead of waiting for the 6 o’clock news fed by mainstream media. Governments are actually afraid of this new power that regular folks like us have today thanks to social media. We shouldn’t underestimate that power but instead take advantage of it. :2cool:
