First picture was the rubber coating on the underside of a sink and the second picture is the connection to the sink itself where the drain pipe connects to the underside.

"A drain pipe thingy"="(answer)" is usually around most people's house's, but you said "might"... You certainly have branched out and made these hard. I still can't figure out how people got that elephant or any of them for that matter, my brain is getting very slowwwwwwwwwwwww..
the first pic made me think of an exhaust manifold all gunked up too, but the second clue made me think its an outdoor faucette with the insulater stuff around it like so...
BINGO! A outdoor spigot, faucette, whatever you want to call it. A lot of close gueses after the last hint though we had garden hose (so close) and dirty faucette.
The next clue was going to be a section of the handle which would have given it away. Grats Jeep! PM me your info!
Congrats Crash, all us other ECF members are gonna have to ban you from contest soon, dang girl you always win stuff and the good stuff, how do you do this.!!
