I just placed an order on fasttech about a week and a half ago and the order is still being "processed" *hmph*
I do realize that it's china... I don't mind waiting for the shipping I mean it was only under 20$
link: ~will revise and post soon~
Ive read all the reviews on all the different types of their "smpl style mod" (clones) from the SS to copper, brass and painted.
A lot of them say that they have some cleaning up to do before you can really start vaping. Things like machine grease or oil left behind, I guess in some cases leaving partial oxidation on the copper style mods. Issues with the button being "crunchy" and there being "a seam like top cap, either pressed or welded." Unlike a *one piece mod* Some have stated there being scratches or scuffs possibly happening during transit. I think the only other issue I have read about is some of the threading might have a few minor flaws like metal scraps still attatched.
Regardless of all the flaws, pros and cons that I have read, there have been many reviews saying that overall it is a great mod that works and functions as one could expect. This and the fact that I don't mind extra maintainence and cosmetic flaws (especially for the price) is what led me to go through with the purchase. Since I am still new to mechanical mods and RDA's I figured this would be a good learning experience for me. My main concern with the mod is the BUTTTON. I like both spring loaded and magnetic buttons and don't mind a button that has some resistance to it. BUT I went to a local vape shop a few days ago and looked at 3 different AMOD smpl mod clones and each button was the same... Very hard to press and I felt the "crunchiness" others have mentioned in some reviews. It felt like it wasn't very sturdy and would push further in other spots. Now I have done plenty of research on this clone and I have seen other vapers use this mod with no issues with the button. I'd like to figure out if there are ways I can fix the button if this becomes an issue when I recieve the mod. I've heard of people pulling the button on their mod apart and simply stretching the spring to loosen it, or on some mods replacing the spring with magnets. If anybody has any experience with this please let me know! I'll be posting pics of my setup and the mod once I recieve it. :)

Might take a while. For me it usually takes 3 weeks. For a buck more you get a tracking number.
Don't remember whether $20 will do the free tracking number. $21 will for sure.

Welcome to ECF, Twonnie...

I wouldn't get too stressed out over the details, until you see it. If the SKU is 1943605, for the 1:1 version... you've got a better than 50/50 chance of it being just fine. At best, a complete disassembly, a good cleaning and light break-in lube... at worst, a bit of deburr, polish and spring tuning to user preference.

I've tuned up about a half-dozen for friends, and the "worst" required a bit of deburring on the button and bore, along with light polishing with 2000 grit wet/dry (don't get carried away here - just a light polish to cut the ridges without altering base dimensions) a good cleaning using IPA, and reassembly with silver conductive grease for break-in. (The link is for specs, Amazon sells it a few bucks cheaper)

I was a prototype machinist in a past life, so if anything I may have gone overboard, but as they all worked quite nicely... no one complained. ;-)

I think it's 20$ and up and then there's upgraded shipping options I might try and look into some more tonight. I can be impatient at times :p

The SKU number is 1927900 it's the all copper version :) Like I said, I'm not too worried about the cosmetics off the bat. I'd be glad to do the cleaning up. I guess I would just need a few pointers if worse came to worse: any of the things I mentioned actually did happen. I wouldn't really know how to polish or deburr. But thank you for the info and welcoming to ECF!

yeah don't stress it on the Fasttech (Slowtech) shipping or stalk your mailbox for that matter. Where I live it sometimes takes upwards of 2 months to receive orders just out of the US and I have an order placed with Slowtech since December 12th which tracking still shows as being in your neck of the woods (Country code US OH), so if you see it, give it a push in this direction would ya:mail:

Just to throw two things out there: I love my fast tech SMPL mod. It required a good bit of deburring on the 510 threads (a huge copper sliver hanging on) and it's clearly got a press-fit cap that's getting grimy, but it's still fantastic.

For everyone waiting on Fasttech, 17track.net is a fantastic website to use. You'll get details you otherwise won't on the USPS website. For example, it will say "Origin Post preparing shipment" while it's getting on, and off, a plane to Chicago and sitting in US customs, in my experience.

I just got my SS SMPL mod from fasttech. Took about 3 weeks to get it, but well worth it in my opinion. Mine came perfect, no machine oil, no burrs, threads were on par. I love it. The SS version is a 1:1 clone so what that being said, my only complaint is its not exactly 1:1. The difference is in the button. The button is a lot different from the authentic. The biggest being that the breather holes don't line up and they're smaller than the original. But it still vents well and vapes fantastic! Hits like a truck with its almost zero voltage drop. My new favorite mod and I thought it would be hard to beat my Panzer Black Hawk

Thank you all for your replies and sharing your experience with fasttech! I do agree they should probably change their name... Since it's been a little over a week and a half that my order still hasn't shipped out... I checked back on the site and the tracking says it will ship out on Feb. 2nd. I don't doubt that it won't take long to arrive after it's initially shipped out. The thing that keeps coming to my mind though is that maybe they wait and ship in bulk to the U.S? I've noticed that they offer bulk pricing discounts. Like freight shipments maybe? I'm obviously not sure how things work there but oh well. I'm glad to hear from everyone that despite minor mishaps, everyone's been overall satisfied with their products. :)
