Cosmetic Suggestion

I love my V4L. I have the Xl batteries and I use a 902 whistle tip mouthpeice on them. It is great. I get the length and feel and battery life of my penstyle, without the mess of cartridges.

I realize this is very OCD, but..... my batteries are a shiny black, and the cartos are more of a matte black. If the cartos were painted in the same shiny black (instead of the contact paper wrapping), or batteries were available in a matte black, it would be great. They would be all nice and matchy. Like I said - OCD, especially when it comes to aesthetics. Another thing - the V4L logo is gold, which looks sweet on the black battery, but the metal connector is silver colored and they clash.

I don't want to put form over function, because the V4L e-cig is wonderful in functionality. But a more perfect appearance would make me all sorts of happy.

Do you drip into an open cart? Or just use the tip over the top of the closed cart?
I am just wondering if you doing this soley for the 'look' or if the mouth piece is functional. I actually think this would look quite sleek and kind of considering it maybe. I wish V4L would sell some mouth pieces.

From what I read up on the Edition 2 cartomizers the other day, they will have the ability to 'paint' color on the cartridge. I dont know if they will be shiny or matte, but it is possible that not far off there will be a solution.

I personally dont care for the wrapping. it gets in the way alot.

You could try this:

Peel the sticker off of one of your cartos. Use a bit of lighter fluid or Goo-Gone on a paper towel to remove the adhesive.

Attach the shiny metal carto to a gun-metal battery, add a stainless drip-tip and there ya go, pretty sleek.

Try a drip tip instead of a whistle tip..the mouth feel is even better! (they do come in matte black as well as other colors)
I also wouldn't mind a matte black batt. I noticed the same thing you did about the color difference. I don't care about the logo color or the silver rim though.
I want the LED to match the color of the batt though..I guess we are all a bit obsessive about certain things!

I don't drip. The reason I switched to cartos is so that I don't have to mess with liquid at all - except for a weekly mass refilling of empty cartomizers.

I took the little white rubber cap thingy off of a carto and replaced it with the mouthpiece from a 902/J118. It fits perfectly. I started a thread recently on the subject.

You could try this:

I thought about that. I prefer black though. I thought about using some steel wool to take the shine off a black battery. But I'm going to wait until a battery dies and test it. I don't want to ruin a good battery.

In the mean time, Go to the hobby store and find a 1/4 oz bottle of gloss black modeling paint (for model airplanes and cars n boats). Peal your sticker off, remove the glue with gooBgone and hit it with 2 coats. Post in the mods section if you are happy with the results.

Thanks for the heads up about the E2 Carts... After I read that I went to the thread about them. Thats a little disappointing they ended up not working well. I was looking forward to those. I am sure something else will be in the works soon.

I really want to customize the look, too. I really don't like the look of the gold-on-black (or other color) "all-over logo" battery.. but if it was done in a black-on-black scheme (semi-glossy logos on a matte battery) now that, I might be after.

...and the ability to choose from an array of available LED colors.

i actually like the blue batts with the all over logo, but they have been out of stock. being able to choose the led coler would be cool, but i wonder if it would make sense finacially for V4L.
