cosmetic VTR mod?

Has anyone taken apart a VTR and done a cosmetic mod to make it less finger print happy? If so id love to see it and would appreciate any advice on the topic. Im geting a VTR with in the nexy few weeks so i thought i should start thinking about this now before i have it and the overwhelming desier to take it apart hits me lol
