Same thing here. I am sensitive to certain flavors, cotton being one of them, and using both sterile and boiled cotton I pick up the flavor for maybe 10 or so puffs and then it fades away. Just a matter of 'breaking' them in. You may also want to try a different brand of cotton as some have a stronger flavor then others (no idea why but they do).

And as I'm sure others will recommend, try using CelluCotton/rayon instead of cotton. It wicks better, has a less noticeable flovor w/ less of a break-in time, and is easier to work with.

To my knowledge there isn't really a way around the cotton taste. You just have to take a few puffs to get it away. Some brands have a stronger taste than others. The Japanese cotton pads have the worst taste so far IMO but they are the most absorbent. The Organic cotton balls from Walgreens have the least cotton taste but are also the least absorbent. Pros and cons to everything in vaping I guess....
