How often do y'all change out your cotton wicks in rebuildables? Mine only last about a day before they start tasting fishy and or just nasty.

I have gone over a week. you may not have the coil right. The coil could be to tight or to lose.
Hmm, I've been using a whole strand of number 4 cotton yarn and wrapping tightly using a paper clip to both provide stability and allow for expansion as I've read elsewhere on these forums.
It could still be to tight depending on the size paperclip you are using. The cotton swells quite a bit and I have noticed it takes like a day for it to expand completely.
I use a plastic coated paperclip which makes it bigger. rewicking with cotton takes some trial and error but once you get it you can make great long lasting wicks.
Ive noticed after a day or two you have to kick up the volts a little as well.....ZoMbiE
One item to note, the life of cotton and similar wicks can be highly dependent upon the juice used. 'Kicking up the voltage' (which I have to do also) can be an indication that the wick is starting to clog. This is related the the makeup of the juice. Dark, particle laided juices (i.e., Tobacco Absolte, Natural Tobacco Extractions and other) will tend to clog the wicks up much quicker than clear, colorless juices. It may be that higher voltages tend to degrade the wick as well.

I vape nlv gold and can get at least 2 weeks out of my wicks before I redo them. Here is a pic of how I set mine up and it works great.
I have found the cotton wicks last longer when the coil is loose. I have one on my Chalice that is going on two weeks and still tastes great. At first I thought it was too loose but didn't have time to redo it. Glad I was pressed for time.
I get 4-5 days before a decline of flavor ,cotton twine\rope, wraped with a needle spacer kinda tight, dry, 34 gage nichrome,5/6 wraps, 2.7-3 ohms, by then its pretty dark yellow around the coil area and turns juice yellow quick,straight menthol, clear,
Thanks for the advice all, I've upgraded to a Genesis device, so no more fiddling with cotton and changing wicks daily lol.
AH, Boba's is a VG heavy juice which may have been the rout of your problemo m'friend. Which genny did you snatch up??
