I was coughing a fair bit at first myself. I cut the pg to 50C% and that helped (Like the flavor better as well). Now I only cough when I use the "high stress" 22ml nic juice I keep around for bad days.

Oh and the not coughing in the AM will make up for the coughing now in time. But odds are high you will go through the "coughing up crud" phase before that really kicks in.

I coughed like crazy in the beginning, I just took smaller puffs and experimented with different way of taking it in and after a day or so no more coughing, I was using an ego twist and Viva Nova, I started at the low end of the volts and worked my way up until I found the voltage I liked. If your husbands isn't bothering you, start with that setup and then after a while try your other clearos. Hang in there, don't give up!

When you take a puff does it feel dry and scratchy in your throat?

It could be the tanks. It sounds like you're getting what we call "dry hits"

What happens with a dry hit is the wick doesn't have enough juice on it and when you take a puff you just get some dry scratchy tasteless vapor that irritates your throat and it can make you cough.

It's either you're getting dry hits OR the throat hit is too much for you.

Dp you know what the PG/VG ratio and how much nicotine is in the juice(s) that make you cough?

Can get much more airy than the protank :) everybody gripes about it but I have come to love it with an air flow controller.

I love the airy-ness of the protank. I'm a HUGE fan of genesis style hybrids and RBAs and the protank flows almost exactly like my Z-Atty and iHybrid; I love it.

[...] It's not as airy as I expected from reading user opinions here but it's definitely not like dragging on a tightly packed cigar. [...]

What!? Not as airy as you expected!? The ProTank is probably the most airy an attachment can get besides some Genesis style RBAs and Hybrids.

Use the protank. It is awesome. You really taste your juices, it is an easy draw, easy to fill, easy to clean. My only gripe is be careful if you ever drop it, the base can break.

This, I broke my first being careless, sitting my mod upright in my cup holder in my car. Took a sharp turn and it fell to the side breaking off the 510 connection in my ego twist. Got 2 more on sale and have been pretty meticulous with both, so I haven't had any problems.

My first vape at the local retailer had me coughing really bad, uncontrollably to tell the truth. That's when I realized you can't hit it like an analog. Not sure exactly how to describe it, but it's more like swallowing the vapor after you've stopped your draw. Point is there's a learning curve to it, probably different from person to person.

Oh...if the worst case scenario is you're 'stuck' with a Protank you've got little to worry about :D

Ok, so I am taking "tiny" draws... I can inhale with the protank, no problem so far. Cough every now & then. Used the EVOD & nova tanks while at work today... I believe it's getting better, but I didn't try to inhale much. I appreciate the comments & it's nice to know the coughing will eventually go away as I get used to it & perfect my technique.
AND....
I have only smoked about 10 analogs today! Huge thing for me to say because I typically smoke 2 1/2 - 3 pad! Woohoo!!

You have to pay attention to the ohms in your evods, T3's and also protanks. The lower the ohms, the lower the volts needed. If you have no way of measuring the ohms dial your spinner down to 3.6 and go up from there in increments of .1 volts. Hope this helps.

This. I'm surprised no one else pointed this out. Check what ohms your vivi is and what voltage your evod is. Check both of these on your husbands. The formula is Watts = Voltage(squared) then divide by ohms. If yours is higher than your husbands, try a higher ohms on your next heads or next vivi. If they are rather close in watt difference then what people are saying about how they work in general may be the issue.

Yeah, ok, so you lost me... I just took both out of the package & used them... Same with the protank. Whatever was installed is what I am using at the moment. I did buy some replacement ones, but haven't opened them. As for the battery, it's a vision spinner & I have varied the setting until I got a flavor I liked...
Same with hubby, he just used what was installed...

Lovin this protank.... Gotta get another...

It took me like a week to realize I was hitting it too hard. Slow and steady is the way to do it. I saw someone on ECF say something like: Remember, your finger and the battery are doing the work for you.
It was a real dawning point to me, cause it's the opposite with smoking. Especially after the intro of "fire-safe cigarettes", our inhalation IS what's keeping the analog going.

I have only smoked about 10 analogs today! Huge thing for me to say because I typically smoke 2 1/2 - 3 pad! Woohoo!!

Congratulations! You're well on your way!

Have you tried not buying a pack yet? You don't even have to commit to never buying any more. Heck, just put them all in your car for a bit. You may be surprised how much less you're inclined to expend energy retrieving the cigarettes vs. just puffing away on the ecig. Quitting Smoking + Ecigarette = Easier Than You Think.
Best of luck!

Should have realized you said spinner. Did the adjustment for flavor take care of the coughing? If not it must be the basic design that others were mentioning.
