@Newbie
It sounds to me like you need more power & more nic. If you had that you wouldn't need to be taking a drag every second.
You are a candidate for a higher voltage device. And a minimum of 24mg nic juice. You would be amazed & I foresee increased satisfaction for you.

I agree. If you had a regulated PV that would give you consistent 4.5 - 5.0 volt power with 24mg eliquid along with 1.5 ohm dual coil cartomizers, you should see a big improvement. You probably wouldn't want to take hit after hit. I've also read the rebuildable atomizers like the DID, etc at that volt level do a great job.

you can't dry burn/clean cotton wicks tho .....cotton burns :glare:

Hi Kelley,

Haven't seen you in awhile. Hope things are going Good for you.

Yeah, I was thinking of trying the Cotton more to just try it verses something I would use all the time. They way I mod my CE2's I don't have Any problems with Dry Hit.

Rewicking a CE2 seems like a lot of work and maybe best left to those with Deaf Fingers and Good Eyesight. But I would try it once just to see what all the Buzz is About.

PGA is a better cleaning agent from my and many other's experience.

I've used Everclear, but it leaves an unappealing after taste (I usually pat my wick semi-dry with a paper towel, reassemble and refill).

I only rinse when changing between radically different flavors. I'm not getting the crusted black blob of burnt juice on my cotton wicks like I did with the stock wicks, so my cleaning is really just for clearing the previous flavor, not so much for partical removal. That may change after I push the limits of my new cotton wicks though.

I got the imist atty and tank from vapor cigzz a couple days ago, and I'm pretty impressed. Can vape and vape and vape and no dry hits yet. As soon as the wick in it wears out Ima SS it and I'm bettin it will be pretty kick but. Cool thing is that the tank for it only holds about a mil or so, so I've been able to use up my juice bottles that only has a mil or so left in them.
My other vapes are the vivi nova, and I've been able to hit those pretty hard to, the other day I SS'd one of those and it's vaping really nice also. Great thing about SS is that if you vape it dry you just get heat, not nasty burnt wick.

Well,.....Thanks alot EVERYONE for all your considerate advice!

I'm a tinkerer and I know for sure I'll be rippin stuff apart / jacking up voltages / (Never thought of the wick thing......Cool!)

Anyway, my first initial thing is I'm eventually thinking to use this e-cigg method to quit alltogether...(aren't most all of though)...I'm seeing it could get quite interesting. Anyway, (given this idea) I suppose all I have to work with is the Volt (juice & bigger batt comming soon).........Sucks I'm still SMOKING?....Na, not really, it's just that at first I was impressed,...said "Alright!,....See ya analogs,...I can deal with this!"...however....etc...etc.

You all gave some great ideas & proven facts----I "WILL" GET THIS!....Let's just hope I don't get too much into it!....BUT,....How bad could that be......considering. ----------------THANKS! -- I'll be working on my E-Helmet soon...
..............Keep ya all in mind

Oh Yeah...PS: Thanks for the couple of "Dry Hits" (with power not applied) advice. That makes perfect sense!,...I'm beggining to see how they work now......LOOK OUT!...lol

Yes, I've rewicked my Stardusts with SS and I couldn't get a burnt hit no matter how hard I tried. My problem with the SS wick is that I got a lot of leakage out the bottom of the tank, like it wicked too good :)

That's first time I've ever read that anyone has found that Everclear has an aftertaste. That is one of the big draws to PGA over alcohol is that it is oderless and tasteless and evaporates much more quickly than water. I've never noticed any aftertaste at all. It sure was a big plus back in the college days when making strong fruity drinks with PGA.

Ya, it can cause leaks, I think that's because the wicks expanded a bit and sealed below themselves against the metal tube where SS doesnt form a seal.
And whomever says carto's has to acknowledge that carto's are on their way to a slow death in the ecig industry.

I found that the Vision V2 Version3 Clearo hasn't leaked a drop with my cotton wick, whereas I'd get some leakage with the Stardusts. I may give stainless another go and/or incorporate some cotton.
