Could Vamping become adiction

Hi there.

To answer your question, yes, someone can become addicted to vaping. A lot of people tend to buy e-liquids which contain nicotine, which is a highly addictive substance.

A lot of people turn to vaping as an aid to quitting smoking. So the majority of people will select a strength of nicotine suitable to their personal situation. However, if someone is completely new to vaping and has no dependence on nicotine, then my advice would be to choose an e-liquid with 0% nicotine, that way making any chance of dependence minimal.

Hope this helps! :)

Hello people, does anyone want to link a study that shows nicotine as being addictive? You can find many studies that show nicotine is only about as addictive as caffeine, but it's not highly addictive so no worries about becoming an addict from vaping. Smoking is addictive but there are other chemicals involved.

I would personally say it's dependent on the dose. When I made the switch from smoking socially to smoking regularly, I found the habit very difficult to kick.

I drink coffee quite regularly throughout the day, and can quite easily put that down when I need to. However, it is quite difficult to measure the dosage of caffeine, depending on what type of coffee/soda you're drinking, and I doubt most people take the time to check. I'm speaking anecdotally of course, but I'd say as a comparative habit, nicotine is more addictive.

Yes link wiki which is written by anyone and that even says nicotine is highly poisonous which is also wrong. The theory that nicotine is highly addictive comes from studies of cigarettes which are addictive, but we're talking about nicotine not smoking.

It is a bit strange to deny nicotine addiction on a forum of nicotine addicts (how many ECF members can switch to 0 nicotine starting tomorrow?)

I too share the same view as Norrin. People like to equate nicotine to smoking to addiction. Hence they view nicotine as highly addictive. I believe the studies conducted with nicotine and concluding that it is a HIGHLY addictive substance are using cigarettes?? Just my guess.

Give some mice nicotine, caffeine and chocolate to pick from. See which they choose each and every time.

Well if you look at the evidence you see that it's not that addictive, yes it helps us when we start because we are addicted to smoking and nicotine did play a part in that but was only a small part. Then people still want the smoking experience and they use the nicotine to help with throat hit, but you will notice that many vapers say they don't need one first thing in the morning and they can not vape for several hours without thinking about it and we all know as smokers this was not the case. Apart from the odd time do you have those must have a vape/smoke now craving like you had when you smoked?

I'm addicted to the throat hit. If there is a substitute that can create (not simulate) the same feeling as throat hit, I'll be able to jump to 0 nic straight away. So yeah, I'm not addicted to nicotine. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. :)

I don't care about TH so can't remember where I saw this, but there is a liquid supplier that does an additive that gives TH...wolfs blood or something like that I will try and find it again.
