I agree with everyone is saying that to every person they get away from cigs differently. I would definitely drink lots of water regardless, but the fact that you may need an actually cig sometimes, is normal when you first start. I just found that I needed to start out with the highest, and vape a little, then everytime I ran out of a bottle, I would go down a level until at this point I vape 11-18 MG. I still keep some 0mg around because sometimes you just need to do vape tricks :p

My wife and I just quit a little over 2 weeks ago thanks to vaping. Perhaps our attitude going into it helped because we went in with the attitude that we were just finding a replacement as opposed to "quitting". The mere thought of quitting nearly caused anxiety attacks. I didn't want to. I enjoyed the taste and the social aspect since many of our friends smoked too. But after we got our Ego twists and found some juices that were just amazing, we were able to continue the social activities and there were zero anxiety attacks or "nic fits" since we could vape any time we wanted to. It's an absolute blessing and I hope you stick with it because even without the nicotine benefit, it can turn into a really fun hobby and you'll find that most folks out there are willing to help.

I also agree with what many others have said - even after just 2 weeks, we almost can't stand the smell of our friends who smoke and wonder how in the world we ever could have been ok with it. :)

As you can see this is a great place to come for support...LOL
I am one of those people who tried e-cigs and kept smoking analogs, it hasn't been easy for me. I loved smoking, the taste of tobacco so for me to be able to quit took alot...a stay in the hospital and a lung full of junk did it for me.
Please don't get down on yourself if you have a analog, the point is your trying. Remind yourself of all the analogs you are NOT smoking each day. Don't allow yourself to smoke inside, if it's 12:00am and you think you need one the thought of getting up and going outside might change your mind. If you think to yourself that having an analog is a treat, change the conversation to yourself that it is somehow a punishment. Make sure you keep analogs around. Tell yourself that failure is not an option, it will take as long as it takes to get there...6 months, a year, whatever. Find a juice you can vape all day, find a set up thats reliable and make sure you have plenty of batteries, etc.
Ask for support from your family. Don't try to hide it from anybody if you need to smoke , ask them not to be negative about it. My kids have been so supportive and it really does help. After about a week or two you will be able to smell and taste an analog and it might surprise you how bad they smell and taste, it shocked me. When your breathing improves and you feel so much better it will get easier because now you don't want to give that up, you will become addicted to feeling good. Eventually you will adjust to the e-cig and maybe actually prefer it to analogs. Theres so many things you have to withdraw from but you can find ways to overcome each one. The nic patches took care of the physical cravings for me, the e-cig took care of the hand to mouth and most of the emotional. I still think I need about 3 puffs every week to remind myself how bad they taste, smell and make me feel but I have almost conquered that problem. Most important is to not give up..Good Luck!

Sassycat- like many here said, everyone is different and comes off the cigs different. These are my first days starting 20 days ago. I'm a nwebie like you, not an expert by any means. This is just my story and maybe it will help you out a bit.

Was a light smoker of full flavor smooths. Tested the waters the last week of January this year with a few njoy king free samples while still smoking my last pack. Surprisingly that pack I bought last all that final week with supplementing with the njoys. Ordered a 510 with cartos and 24 mg juice. It all arrived Jan 31st so I decided that my quit date would be the next day Feb 1st - an easy date for me to remember.

The very first day was fine, no analog cravings at all and I was becoming friends with my 510.

The second day still no physical cravings, but the mental habits were difficult to stave off. I found that I enjoyed going outside for a cig because it was also a 5 min break from the kids. I love them dearly, but as every parent knows, sometimes a mental health break is required. So I started going outside and vaping instead of in the bathroom (I still don't feel right vaping where the kids can see me) and that "cured" my mental urge to smoke.

Third day was horrid. I got the headache, sweats, shakes, abdominal pain, etc. I thought at first I vaped too much nic, so I took a nap. I woke up feeling better so I was still thinking maybe too much nic from vaping. The next day same thing but less so. Each day it was a bit better with no change in vape amt. It lasted about a week with each day a little better. Now I know it was my body withdrawing from the analogs, not too much nic, because I didn't cut down on the vaping or mg/ml.

I'm on day 20 and all is fine. Still no physical cravings and only an occasional mental wish - but those have been quickly nixed. Going outside in a blizzard, single deg weather, and another blizzard pretty much killed my want of going outside, lol. I'm down to 18 mg now and when these are used up I plan on going to 12. I may even buy some 6mg of the same flavors and make my own 12 mg.

I'm hoping to be vaping nic free by summer.

It's hard to say whether you are getting too much nic, not enough nic or withdrawing from other chems in the analogs. Only you will be able to figure that out since everyone's bodies react differently. Just remember to stay hydrated because it does dry you out. I'm not gonna tell you to drink gobs of water, because I'm not a water lover myself so that would be hypocritical. Vaping has gotten me to drink more water than normal though.
