Not much of a point here, JM2C.

I sense that the e-cig, if not banned, is on the virtual edge of being explosive in popularity, once everybody who has a friend or family member who's never been able to get off of tobacco. I continue to "sell" my success and others successes by not smoking an analog since day 1 of their e-cig, and the health boost most have not seen for maybe 40 years, all in two to three weeks. If the powers to be don't F-us out of this magical device, just think about the wonderful transition of healthy people we will have, and what improvements it'll make to those friends and family, who love them, and wish them away from analogs!

I am continuing to be surprised though at how few people I am around who see my e-cig, and ask, "What's that?" You'd think that the e-cigarette news would have informed a bigger portion of the public and you get, "OH yea I heard of those" or "My friend has one and has not lit a cigarette in months." That's not the case almost all of the times I've demo-d the e-cig in public, basically the majority of the people are clueless, or worst, have the anti freeze scare right off.

My subject title may be the ironic twist for the real attacks the PVs are getting today from the big money players and the FDA being bought out. With such a high success rate of improved health by using the e-cigs, it'd catch like wildfire when more and more testimonials begin to pop inside family circles. I really think it's neat how automatic these things just change people's health immediately. Given unbridled time, a huge segment of our smoking public would vastly boost their daily health conditions. Scooter Bob

SB - the title of your thread details the problem. ;)

They really do not want us to quit analogs - Big brother, big pharma, big tobacco. Where would all their $$$$$$ come from if everyone quit?

Wouldn't that logic back up some of the theories of people that we haven't gotten a cure for cancer, AIDS, diabetes, etc, yet BECAUSE THE FINDINGS ARE SUPPRESSED FOR THE ALMIGHTY DOLLAR! When I stated the last I mentioned just now to the conservative types I know, they scoff and look at me like I'm ridiculous to even think such a thing here in this democracy, "Our government wouldn't do that!"

If all this greedy money is the basis of this country and how they govern for out health, what's that make us in comparison to China and Russia? Socialism doesn't sound so bad if these things are indeed so blatent and obvious facts about big money vs health. We're in one hellova mess all around if the research finding for all these diseases are held back by greed for pharma, fed taxes, and to feed the health care services by keeping people sick instead of truly cured. E-cigs, IMO might open some eyes to the real situations elsewhere, such as the cure for diabetes. SB

the pharmacutical companies dont want us to be well cause they loose money. why is it illegal for herbal medicine that has been around for centuries to put on the bottle what it is used for? I have a medical condition called Ulcerative Colitus which is basically bleeding ulcers in my colon and large intestine. the pills I take are at the cheapest 550 a month. just for 90 pills. that is 6 dollars a pill. I am lucky enough to be on a program that is 30 dollars a month. they send me a 3 month supplyy at a time and everytime I have to get a refill they always drag it out to where im out of mymeds for 2 months. luckily my dr gives me samples untill the med comes in. the fact is I pay 6 dollars for a pill that cost about 20 cents to make.

In the same line of thought though...

Lets assume the worst happens.

Lets assume the judge labels them a drug/device combination.

Due to the extreme popularity, they will be picked up quickly by Big Pharma... which has the money to get approvals done QUICKLY (without proper testing... look at all the deadly product recalls)

Now, if they put such devices on the market, under FDA approval, as long as manufacturers match the formulation of the drug component, then 'little guys' can file an 'amended application' for approval, and the only thing they must prove is that the active ingredient is equal to that of the drug that was submitted that already obtained FDA approval.

In short, if banned, Big Pharma will be putting a similar device through FDA approval as soon as possible to take advantage of the public opinion of them, and once that happens, the small producers can ride their coat tails straight through the FDA's approval system.
