Couldn't taste a thing

Had something strange happen last night. I was up late and vaping at the computer but I couldn't taste any of the flavors I regularly use. I tried switching between different flavors, different batteries, cartomizers, atties, wintergreen, caramel, RY4, etc. I even opened a new cartomizer I'd been saving, but nothing had any taste whatsoever. Thankfully today everything is back normal but it sure was odd for about 2 hours last night.

Anyone ever experience anything like that?

Well, there ya go. It's been about 6 weeks since I started and 3 weeks since my last analog. Yay, I'm normal.

Yes all is good. You may find that you will get this issue again with the onset of a cold. I keep menthol around and drop that in a DIY juice when the "no taste" bug rears its head. Best of luck, welcome to ECF and happy vaping

All previous posts are correct. Sometimes a BIG glass of water helps. Since I'm just not much of a fan of menthol - even when vaping - I usually keep a strong atomic fireball flavor on hand for such occassions. Or add a lot of Capella's gingerbread to a small bottle of juice. This too shall pass. On the plus side, bet your sense of smell (and taste) will soon improve to yet another level and you'll be smelling all kinds of things . . . even those you'd rather not! :?:

This is indeed a strange phenomenon. I'm glad to see it's not just me. It was a sad day indeed when my favorite vape no longer had any flavor for me. On the plus side, all those liquids that I initially hated due to the fact that they were overpowering, can now be appreciated. I've found that after a few days I can once again enjoy my favorites.

Per others I'm glad this isn't an isolated phenomena as that would just be frustrating. I'm in my third week sans tobacco and I notice the flavor loss more often than not. Some juices I can still taste but most just taste the same or very washed out. When it gets bad I may as well be vaping straight pg/vg as that's how most taste. It does mean that more juice is aging in my cabinet since the ones I can actually taste are few in number compared to the amount where I can't taste anything. Whats frustrating is that I can smell them and they smell awesome but the taste isn't there even after switching atty's and/or cleaning.

I shall attempt to wait a time with patience.

Just out of curiosity, is everyone experiencing flavor loss with vaping only . . . or do food and beverages taste differently too?
For me, I noticed it with all of the above. But that's me. Thought it was to be expected. When I started vaping, I couldn't get enough chocolate flavors. Now, they taste good for a couple of vapes, then mud. Food flavors are much more intense and I'm finding my preferences have changed.

Even tho' it's only been just over a week of no analogs for me (thinking the 2 wks of cutting down might have started regenerating some taste buds & smelling abilities) - BirdDay dinner today was like - WOW popping with flavor!

I'm definitely gonna have to start cutting back - my 15 alarm chili will probably revert back to about 10-11 alarm ;o) Last year, I was about the only one who could get it past her lips ;o)

Wow, this happened to me recently too. I have been off analogs for a month and was worried that I was losing interest in vaping. I switched from tobacco, Ry4, irish creme, menthol, fruity and etc and nothing tasted good to me. It wasn't until I went to sleep and woke up the next morning to try dripping that it all came back to me. A few days later I went back to a cartomizer and all was good...pretty interesting...
