Well a couple weeks ago I was stuck with a dead battery. I had an analog and it was nastyyyyyyy. My old marlboro menthol lights turned really nasty when MD went fire safe cig AKA FSC. Well yesterday I was again left with a dead battery and forgot to bring a spare. I was in virginia which is not FSC yet and my friend bought a pack. I bummed one off of him thinking this is going to be nasty. I fired it up and it was absolutely delicious! I mean it was so damn good I savored every last drag of it. It was so good I almost want to order a carton from a site selling non FSC analogs. The draw was so smooth and so full compared to the new FSC analogs. The menthol was so strong just like I remember before the FSC came about.

OHHHHHHHHHHHHHH the temptation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Looks like we need to drive down to Virginia to kick your ..... :D

It is easy to fall to temptation. Even after a week of not smoking them, I still sometimes eye that week old pack of Pall Mall sitting on my desk.

My advise would be to get an extra battery. With the cost of cigs $8 a pack (and higher in many states), an extra battery (and atomizer) is cheap in comparison to analog smoking. Even if I had to buy an new e-cig at $100 each month, it's still way cheaper than the $240.00 a month to smoke one pack a day each month.

I smoked 2 packs a day. $480.00. A new e-cig each month for $100.0 if I had to. Bit of a cost savings there. ;)

I've been vaping since mid March. I know the goal is to be analog free. But, I went from 3+ packs per day to 3-4 cigs a day. I still like the Djarum Blacks, and every once in a while, a Camel light hits the spot. Especially if I'm driving and cannot top off.

I consider my drop to 3-4 cigs a victory. I never thought I get down to a pack a day. I may get to the point that I'm off analogs, but it'll take one hell of a good Clove liquid to match the Djarums.

Exactly! If someone can go from even a pack a day to just a couple of analogs per day via vaping then it's a victory. Not to mention the health benefits...

I can't believe that anyone could survive without at least 10 batteries, 5 chargers and 5 atomisers. AT LEAST 8-o

I haven't picked up an analog since 6 days after I got my first kit - because I gave away all my baccy and haven't bought any more. I was chain smoking.

It makes me laugh (or else I'd cry) when I see those e-cig signatures stating how much money people have saved since they started vaping - vaping has cost me an absolute fortune, but I don't resent a penny of it.

But the light at the end of the tunnel is upon me: I do believe my Janty Stick will be the last model I'll buy for quite some time :)

At first, the sticker shock for me was pretty big. I started with a 901 kit, then got an rn4072 kit, then a kissbox classic. That plus some assorted fluid and I was wondering if I'd ever get out of the hole money-wise on these.

5 months after that (total, in e-smoke time, I had a few months during relocation that I was back on analogs during), I've added a 401 kit, a 510 kit, a 601 pipe kit, a bunch of passthroughs and backup parts, backup carts, and mebbe a total of 400ml fluid in different flavors and quantities. I've spent all told around 1000-1200 bucks on esmoking.

However, 6 months on analogs, at the old, low rate of 5 bucks a pack, was costing me 10 bucks a day, or 300 a month... or 1800 total in that same period (not counting the days, usually every weekend, I was smoking 3 packs a day instead of 2). The money I saved already paid for a trip to Florida to see Iron Maiden, so I'm considering it coming out ahead. I save about 250 bucks a month buying fluid and spare atty's over analogs.

I love it!

And I haven't had an analog since I've liked... can't even remember what a non-FSC would taste like...lol.

I've been mostly analogue free, but occasionally, I'll bum a cig and smoke with a friend. I always feel like I don't get the throat hit I need, but then the analogues always feel super weak and light, although fairly tasty, the smell is what kills me. But smoking no more than one analogue a day, I can really taste them, and still think American Spirits are best.

Don't worry about having 1 or 2 - and don't beat yourself up over it. This is still an enormous improvement over a pack or 2 a day!

Remember to count every analog NOT smoked as a personal victory! Every analog smoked in a moment of true desire a bump on the road, or a rememberance.

Now pick up your PV (and for heaven's sake, get some back up gear!), spike it with a good 36mg solution, and take a deep inhale.......ahhhhhhhh. All better.

Here in the states some genius decided cigs start to many fires so most states now make cig manufacturers use a new paper that has 2 extra thick bands of chemically treated paper that puts the cig out if it has not be dragged on for a short period of time. When they did this it made them taste really nasty and harder to draw on.

Thanks for all the support folks! :D

They sure did and for the most part the whole thing has been hush hush. Its not something they openly told everybody about. For a few weeks I wondered why my normal smokes tasted nasty all of a sudden.

>

I was getting headaches all of a sudden nearly every evening (when I would smoke more) right around the time that they created those *never stay lit* cigarettes. Maybe just in mind, I don't know for sure --- but I don't get them now.

Pro, you were a heavyweight smoker. You're doing just fine even with an occasional cheat.

You'll love this the explination of how fsc's work

Fire safe cigarettes are produced by adding bands of EVA (ethylene vinyl acetate) to the cigarette paper during manufacturing, in order to decrease burn rate at the bands. The combustion toxicity of EVA has not been studied to any extent, but combustion byproducts are known to include carbon monoxide and "unknown hydrocarbons".

I especially like the The combustion toxicity of EVA has not been studied to any extent

ProStreet - Please don't beat yourself up about having a smoke. I have gone from 20+ a day to 2-3 a day. I am so tickled I can't stand it. I would've never thought that I was capable of accomplishing this feat! So don't fret!

OMG - you mean to tell me they added, yet another or even more carcinogens to our analogs?? You have got to be kidding me! Seems like an oxymoron at work - government tries to save us from a fire caused by a lit cigarette, yet have no qualms about the fact that the new design has added more carcinogens to an already dangerous product. I am so ready to move to a little island somewhere and live for the rest of my life, without government interference. As long as I could still get my juice and PV supplies! ;)

If it wasn't so serious it would read like a Saturday Night Live skit. And look at the acronym -- Eva. It sounds so sweet, like the girl scout that knocks on your door and sells you cookies. "Hi, my name is Eva -- would you like to buy some thin mints?" "Sure, angel face -- put me down for 4 boxes".
