Hello all. Found this forum watching a video on youtube. But what led me here? Well, my battle with smoking is an interesting one. I am 39 years od, have been smoking since I was 15, and have quit twice, once for 6 months, and once for 3. But other than that, been a very steady smoker for a whole lot of years. Nothing made me quit. The price going from about $1.15 a pack when I started to where it is today has not made me quit. Having Asthma has not made me quit. Everytime I get sick now, on top of whatever I have, I get bronchitis because of my asthma and my smoking. My asthma does not affect me in any other way other than making me sicker when i am sick. I do not suffer asthma attacks, it does not affect my daily life.
I watched my mother die a very painful death, a 7 year battle with enphasemia, watched my father die from pancreatic cancer, that took 3 weeks from diagnosis till death. Again, none of that made me quit smoking. Then something happened about 3 months ago. I smoke Newports. My cigarettes were different all of a sudden. They taste like crap, and they make me feel like crap. They I learned why. FSC cigarettes. Fire Safe Cigarettes. I could not believe they went and totally changed the smoking experience. They really made me sick. I had chest pains, pains in my ribs, sinus congestion. The smoke shop I visit regularly has set aside every pack of menthol cig that is non FSC for me.
But yes, FSC has made me seek alternatives. FSC has really made me want to have nothing to do with cigs anymore, but I can't quit. I tried making my own, but man I smoke too much to devote that kind of time daily to cigs. Takes too long to sit there and make them. So that is not an option. Then i heard Jose Conseco on Howard Stern, and went to that site. But all weekend I have been researching everywhere, and now its led me to here. I am planning on making an order tomrrow, from Puresmoker, and I really really hope it helps me get off tobacco.
A question I have, that i have not really seen talked about. If you treat the e-cig like an analog, and take about as many drags as a normal analog, in the normal amount of time it would take to smoke an analog, are you satisfied for the same amount of time afterwards? I escape from work about every 2 hours for a smoke, but after about 3 - 4 hours without one, I am really feeling it, and need a smoke. Do you get the same amount of nicotene satisfaction after finishing the e-cig for that session?
I am so gald I found this place. I did so much reading this weekend. So many options. lol. Was gonna order tonight, but I might as well wait and see if there is anything new tomorrow on Puresmoker before I order.
