Hi, I’m pretty much a total noob to all of this, been vaping for 5 days now and I have a couple of questions/concerns. I wanted to post this in the Vapor4Life board, but the site won’t let me because I don’t have enough posts to start threads anywhere but here. Obviously, I’m using the Vapor King, which I love and which has all but gotten me off of analogs at this point.

The first concern I have is that I’m noticing small amounts of liquid on the mouthpieces of my cartomizers after I vape on it sometimes; I can also taste a sweetness on my lips sometimes afterward too. I don’t know if this is normal, a leak, or just the vapor condensing back into a liquid as it exits the mouthpiece and cools. It happens with pretty much every cartomizer/flavor I have, and it also happens both with the auto batteries and the manual passthru. I haven’t seen anyone else mention this anywhere and that worries me.

The second concern I have is that, even after 5 days of pretty heavy vaping, I have yet to really have a cartomizer die on me that I know of. I did buy a ton of flavors and I switch them out a lot, but after reading other peoples’ posts about how many carts they go through in a day, I’m worried that I’m vaping them longer than I’m supposed to be. They all still produce lots of vapor and, while the flavor does occasionally change for the worst, it seems like the flavor comes back if I just switch it out for a while.

I’d love any feedback anyone has for me. Thanks!

Here and back
Are you refilling cartz or using "factory filled"? It will make a difference re: advice. If you are filling then it sounds like too much juice.

As for how long you should keep a cart, as long as it still "fires" and you can clean and refill with no bad taste. I have some that are going on 6 weeks old. I clean and refill and good to go another day.

I am having the exact same problem with mine.. I have so many pre-filleds that I just rotate them around.. I don't smoke a lot, in fact I vape more than I ever smoked. So it is kind of hard for me to tell.. I mean they don't taste burnt or anything. I also fill a couple of blanks of my own. They are producing little throat hit, but good vapor. I have tried blowing it out and stuff like that. ugh idk

Thanks for the replies. I'm mostly using pre-filled carts (ordered a bunch in sampler packs to help me find the flavors I like), but have a couple of blanks that I've filled myself too. Haven't refilled any of the pre-filled, but that's just because it doesn't seem like I've needed too.

I guess I'm just having a hard time believing that cartomizers can last this long before needing a refill. Is it normal for a flavor to change/lessen somewhat as you keep vaping it, but return to normal if you switch the carto out for awhile?

whitbit,

I've had a few instances where it's tasted a little harsh, maybe a little burnt (but that's only with the 555 flavor, which is kinda smokey anyway), but if I just take a break from that carto and come back to it, it's always fine. I think I'm going to end up tearing apart one of them that I think may be empty-ish soon to see what it looks like inside.

keyzygirl,

I'll try working on taking longer/slower drags to see if that eliminates/reduces the amount of liquid I'm seeing. Thanks for the tip!

or just the vapor condensing back into a liquid as it exits the mouthpiece and cools. It happens with pretty much every cartomizer/flavor I have, and it also happens both with the auto batter

this does happen, but it should be minimal--i had the same prob tho, at first, and keyzy's long-slow-draw advice is a good fix for it. :D

it took me a while before my tastebuds were in shape enough after quitting cigs to taste when a cart was going dry. you can top off the carts to keep the top of the filler wet if you're worried--you don't have to vape dry/full refill every time.

Hi. I also have the VFL kit and it came with a bunch of different cartomizers that I keep switching out. I am noticing that some of the cartomizers produce more vapor and more of a throat hit than others. Not sure why since they are all 18 mg. I have only been vaping for two days but so far have only smoked one analog which is pretty good. Anyway, I don't know anything about the juice yet and/or how to refill cartomizers. Just thought I would respond here because so far i really like the VFL kit as well and feel like I made a good choice. It's all just so confusing............

I just ordered some 24mg cartomizers to see what the difference is in throat hit and vapor. Some of my cartomizers seem to produce little vapor and little hit. Have you found that at all?
