Coventry from www.naturally-extracted-tobacco.com
The juice: Coventry was bottled on 8/15, 15mg nic, 70% pg, heat extracted option. Described on site as "Vanilla and Cavendish perfectly blended with broad-cut burley for a sweet, well-balanced smoky vape."
The Hardware: cotton wicked micro coil, small rebuildable dripper; vaped on a VAMO mod from 9 to 11 watts.
Ratings are from 1-5 depending on where a juice falls in an attributes spectrum. Only the last rating, "overall", is based on 5 being the best. (For sweetness 1 equals very dry and 5 equals very sweet. For tobacco impact 1 equals very mild tobacco and 5 equals very aggressive and/or complex.)
Sweetness: 2.5. There's a fair amount of sweetness in this vape. It's the completely natural sweet flavor of vanilla and tobacco, kind of a dull sweetness without the brightness of fruit or candy. It's at a level that I think fans of both dry tobacco vapes and sweeter tobacco vapes would find comfortable.
Tobacco Impact: 3.5. On the upper end of a medium tobacco for me, authentic and complex tobacco notes but not aggressive. Again, it's at a level that I think would appeal to a pretty wide range of preference. I can clearly taste both the Burley and the Black Cavendish. The Burley seems to provide the mid-range tones, leafy with a little bite, and the Cavendish seems to provide a boom boom bass; a low, round, full flavor. Turning up the heat brings out more smokiness to the experience.
Vapability: 3. While a respectable vapability score for me, it's lower than what I'd normally give a medium vanilla tobacco. The Cavendish flavor isn't a perfect match for me, and this hasn't been a juice I've grabbed for often or wanted to vape for very long periods. I have really enjoyed it during some sessions, but those sessions have tended to be short.
Flavor Accuracy: 5. Exactly as described, a pipe blend with all the elements; Burley, Cavendish, and vanilla easilly found.
Overall: 3. I consider Coventry well-made, a successfully executed pipe tobacco vape. I like it a fair amount, but I don't love it. I do think it's a juice that many will dig more than me and I clearly see it's potential as a favorite for some. For me though, based on how often and how long I want to vape it, it just doesn't click on a high level. The vanilla I find good, not great. The tobacco is interesting and complex, but I find the Cavendish a little odd. I want to like this juice more than I do, but in the end I respect it more than purely enjoy it.
