Remember when I started that thread about a new 14500 mod, maybe even one with a Shockwave top switch? Well, I have been waiting for safe CR2 batteries to show up so that everyone can have safe 6V as well as 3.7V again. Probably other battery companies (like AW--hint, hint) will follow these generics found at clouds of vapor. So, there is new life for my Super 6 as well as the hope of more compact dual voltage designs once again.

yoyoma_mda: I remember protected Cr2's but they did not fit the Super 6 and let's face it safe chem LIMN's are definitely safer stacked even than protected regular LI's.

Vapn: You are right you will need serious HV atomizers, but as these things die quickly anyway it seems like a small price to pay for a lot of safe power in a small package and a great solution if one also had a variable voltage mod of some sort..

hmmmm, as Vapn said, those batts in the OP are 3.7V so when fully charged, you're talking 8.4V. Still, if you have very high voltage atties, you may be OK, but it's not the same as a 6V experience.

The second batteries linked to have different issues -
  1. If they have PCB protection, then they will probably be too long for any mod that fits 2 x unprotected CR2s
  2. There's no way ANY CR2 is a genuine 1000mAh.
