Even being very careful I managed to cross thread my UFS plastic window onto the base. Any tips on getting it out other than using a hammer to break the window? I've got a new base and a steel window on it's way from COV so I'll be able to use my UFS. If I have to break the plastic one, then so be it. I'd like not to damage the base though if I can avoid it.

Wear rubber gloves house to give you some extra grip but it will come off with some elbow grease. Needs some "girl power" :)

I just noaloxed it up and I'm going to let it sit for a while. It's cross threaded at a steep angle too. One side is completely down and the other is angled upwards significantly and I have no idea how I managed to do that one. If I can't budge it after a noalox soak, I'll toss it to my son later and see if he can get it unscrewed.

maybe better to warm the metal so it will get bigger Steve. Plastic doesnt change its shape so easy as the metal
If it doesn't budge put it in the freezer for 20min and try again, that should help it come loose. Metal contracts with cold temperatures.

Yes imeo you're right come to think of it the treads of the UFS cap are over the plastic not the other way round so the metal must expand to release not contract. Sorry House, take it out of the freezer

ahahaha, maybe she didnt do it yet Steve!
