Hey ECF!,

I have an eVic VTC Mini ("LOVE IT") and I love the performance of the joyetech Boards and the menu display is my favorite of any screen setup. Only CONS about the joyetech devices is their 510 connections, RDA/tanks/RDTAs don't sit flush (always a gap) and i get Atomizer Shorts on and off if the 510 connection is flat or barely protruding.

Did any of the above issues get fixed on the Cuboid 150 Watt?

So here are my questions for the IStick TC 100 Watt,

1. Do RDA/RDTA/Tanks sit flush?
2. Does it perform well in 316 Stainless Steel Temp Control?
3. Is the battery life good?
4. Hows the USB Charging? (rarely do it, but going on vacation ("VEGAS") and might be required via PowerBank.
5. Build Quality sturdy?
6. Any issues with that side squeeze firing button?
7. Does the White one specifically get scuffed up to easy?

I have both and like them both. The 510 is pretty similar, in my experience at least, and atties that don't sit flush on the Cuboid won't sit flush on iStick. The board is pretty much the same so they perform near identically = really well. Ss 316 works well. The screen on the Cuboid is much better. I'm in the process of comparing the battery life, but it seems to be similar between the devices (based on ml consumed). The build quality on both is ok, but the Cuboid feels sturdier (it's a lot heavier, but smaller). The Istick fire button is great, my favorite of all the mods I own. I haven't tried usb charging but according to reviews where that's been tested it works well. The Cuboid has proper balance charging (not necessary in the Istick). Both are awesome mods and I couldn't choose between them (or the Reuleaux rx200). Get both :)

Going on vacation, need a mod that'll last close to 6 hours but not heavy and not bulky, primary settings is 0.2 dual ohm 316 SS Coil build at 500 F. and 75-80 Watts.

I won't get both right now because i just spent $140 on the RX200, eVic VTC Mini and the Serpent RTA by Wotofo and the Geekvape Avocado RDTA. The eVic VTC is wonderful but doesn't last longer then 2-3 hours of vaping, the RX200 is great but only at home because its to big. So I have a good single 18650 device and a good triple 18650 device but no dual besides the Sigelei 150 but i like 316 SS in TC mode best.

Here is an important question.

What happens if in the istick 100, you accidentally put one of the batteries in the wrong way?

I have no idea if it'll short the batteries and/or destroy the board, and I'm not going to test it.

My guess is instant shortout of both batteries.
You can test it if you have a multimeter by checking ohms between the two positives and between the two negatives.
If the two positives and connected directly together and the two negatives and connected directly together, then putting the batteries in the wrong way will instantly short.

I know this isn't what you're asking, but for the short term carrying a fresh battery in a protective sleeve could let you get by using the VTC Mini.

This is a a good idea, i have a dual battery plastic case thats small and fine for carrying around in my pocket, i could just put 2 freshly charged VTC4s in there and it'll last me the day while i'm running around in Vegas.

I get a connection between the negative poles but not the positives.

I had 510 problems on my VTC mini. I have not had any on my Cuboid. I used to carry spare batteries for the mini, but now I do not have to for the cuboid as it is dual 18650 and has longer battery life at the same wattages I was using on the mini. The cuboid isn't all much larger than the mini, but it is heavier. But it feels nice in the hand, but a bit bulky in the pocket.

My 2 struggles are now based on preference then, from what you guys have all said both are great mods,

IStick PROS over the Cuboid for me: (Winner!)
  • Side Firing Botton
  • White Mod looks sexy
  • Can run in single 18650 ("don't see myself ever running a single 18650 in it if i can help it")
  • Preforms identical to the Joyetech Boards

Cuboid PROS over the IStick for me:
  • Menu Design
  • Build Quality? This may be a con as a lot of people are saying it weights almost as much as the RX200
  • Familiarity of Joyetech boards ("but everyone keeps saying they both handle almost identical")
Seems we may have a preference winner... worst comes to worst, i wait until next month and buy the Cuboid but for now it seems the IStick is coming home and to Vegas with me!

I got a vtc mini and a cuboid at about the same time hoping the cuboid would give twice, or near twice the battery encurance of the mini. I tested both with new batteries, externally charged with the same settings, rda and build, and used the puff timer for comparison. The endurance of the cuboid was about the same as the mini in my test. Since I never go above 30 max watts the cuboid has no advantage for me. The practical solution for me is to carry a spare battery for the mini when I might need that. I don't have a TC 100. Since it's wired in paralell I'm sure it does have near twice the endurance. I'm holding off getting one of those because I'd prefer a smaller form factor. May be there won't be more 2 cell paralell mods so I'll be staying with single cell mods. The mini is my all day every day mod. With a new HG2 it gets through a full day at my settings.

In reply to sofarsogood, they will both have approximately the same run time, as long as you keep the wattages matched. Yes, a parallel cuts amperage in half, but series stacks voltage and then uses buck modules to lower the voltage the atomizer recieves, dependant on your settings, which in turn evenly cuts how much power the batteries need to draw. So at 120 watts (iStick 100W TC's max after update) the Cuboid and iStick both get the same runtime.

question 1-5 is yes and 6&7 is no, the isticks build quality is super nice, the 510 is nicer than the joyetech&wismec models, i havnt scuffed my white one yet (its a pocket dweller), and the batteries do last longer as they are in parallel. Cuboid VTC and RX200 all have the same 510 pin, its square ish and the one in the istick seems about 1mm deeper and is round ish

I use HG2's as well and i did buy the IStick 100w TC and battery life is amazing on it and its funny because on Stainless Steel Settings at 460 F. 60 Watts on a single 0.4 ohm 316 SS coil, it sucks, but TCR settings at 92 and the thing is amazing!! Regular wattage mode is great as well but for Stainless Steel which is the reason i bought it, TCR is the way to go!

After some time with my eVic VTC Mini, i've devices i no longer like Joyetech devices, only their boards because i get Atomizer Shorts on it all day, everyday, whenever i get just the smallest e-juice leak, so its on my shelf of past devices and the 510 on it sucks for me because nothing sits flush and all my tanks / RDAs wiggle on top of it. Horrible constructed device, which is sad because the board/chip worked so well for me! Glad i only paid $30 for it with the Tron Tank (It's a newer model too, not one of the old original ones)

I almost grabbed the Cuboid but very happy i got the White IStick instead, and i upgraded it super easy MAC and PC friendly, now its up to 120 Watts.

Nice response! I also agree with your responses, i bought the White IStick 100w ("Now 120w") TC mod, i love that side button and i noticed in 1 days time that battery life was lasting a lot longer, for example, i usually will chain vape from 5pm - 10:00pm while I relax around my house and usually the battery of my dual 18650 devices will be practically dead, this thing was at half! Thats me vaping on my Serpent RTA by Wotofo in TCR mode at 450-500 F. and 65 watts. That firing button.... so sexy... "drools". lol
