As a Cardinals fan I got a good laugh out of this. Only a Cubs employee could manage to break a granite statue of their Hall of Fame announcer.

As a girl who grew up with two older brothers, one a Sox fan one a Cubs fan, I was a victim of the daily arguments. I think its funny too. But the end all for me would be for something to happen to the Sox also. Otherwise Thanksgiving will be hell again.

I'm a big Cubs fan, but I've never understood the Harry Caray love anyway. He was well past his prime by the time he came to the Cubs and he did nothing but slow down possibly the best color analyst the game has seen.

I agree with you Elendil. He was great with the South Side Hit Men teamed up with the always nutty Jimmy Piersall. That was the most honest telecast of games I've ever seen or heard, probably because Jimmy was crazy and Harry was shnockered by the 7th. I still remember them ripping on Claudell Washington 'He's a dog out there!!!!"

Remember the drunks walking by yelling "Hey, Har-r-ry!!!", now the last link, Nancy Faust, is gone.......I'm sorry, Harry may not have been the greatest broadcaster but he was always a must listen, absolutely hilarious!
